Signs that your CAR BATTERY is about to DIE
People want their car batteries to live forever. But the average age of a battery in a vehicle today is 4-5 years. And it’s a pretty positive lifespan. But what are the signs that the cart battery is dying? Just so that you won’t replace it earlier than it actually needs replacement.
In this video, I will tell you if flickering lights or dim headlights may be seen as the symptoms of the bad battery. Or if the battery light tells you about the dying battery in your vehicle. I will list actual symptoms that you can use to check your car before buying a pretty expensive battery.
Also, I will tell you where and how you can check if there is still some juice in your battery. This may cost you zero dollars but this may easily save your money in case the battery is still usable.

    Hi there I started getting fault messages on the Dashboard of my 2020 mazda 3 saloon. I had the dealership hook it up to their Diagnostic machine which showed the battery needed replacing which they did. When i drove away the same fault messages came back so they hooked it up again to the diagnostic machine which didn't show any faults and i should monitor it over the weekend. Every day i drive the car the fault messages keep appearing eg Radar fault and driver safety faults. Any ideas before i take it back to the dealership?

      Hey! It really may just need to recalibrate. But the problem may be with the radar itself or with the software - these issues are very common in Mazda vehicles. If the message never goes away, the radar wiring also may be affected.

    I have a new Subaru impreza with CVT transmission. All new Subaru's have Stop/Start which cuts engine when foot is on brake when stopped. This obviously disengages the Transmission. Thus this feature should never be disabled as many people are doing cause they don't like it. In the past I thought it was normal to stop your automatic car and keep the motor going and leave it in drive. If it was stopped too long I would put it in neutral. Seems the Stop/Start feature is saving the CVT transmission. Correct??

    • @TopicMotor
      @TopicMotor Před měsícem

      Yes, start stop will prolong the life of the CVT a little. But the video is more about conventional transmissions. CVTs mainly fail due to dirty fluid, towing, or just mileage/age.

    Not to say there are not any shops ripping people off, however, having been 42 years as a Tech in Australia and Canada in many Dealerships as well as aftermarket shops..... have NEVER seen this. Most engines new or old the oil will almost always look the same as it did after you run the engine long enough to get home and "recheck". Colour is not very often an indication of condition. If you truly suspect someone doing this take a sample of oil before and after (kits available at most autoparts stores), send it off to be tested. Or.... go somewhere else where you have heard good reviews.
