Rotorway A600 Turbo Talon Overhauled Engine Install
zhlédnutí 175Před 21 dnem
Help a client install an overhauled A600 Turbo engine. This engine was over hauled by Mark Peterson before he passed away in a helicopter crash. I was able to acquire the parts to make the final assembly and get the helicopter flying again. This a 4 month endeavor to get everything that was needed. Thanks to Joe Huff, Robin Scalzo, Pablo Barroso and others that helped me finish this project. Th...

What is the empty white mount on the left?
@@shreddder999 it was a water bottle holder
@@josephpriolo1514 Well that's not very exciting. I thought maybe it was for the autoland unit.
7:47 He said *5,000* before!
Can't they adjust the squelch?
The sound of that Turbine spooling up is awesome.
Sounds really good Joe ! That turbo is the only way to fly one hot & heavy in Florida !
Seems like you have to move that cyclic an awful lot just for a hover
@@bobrobi4328 yes perfectly normal for a Rotorway helicopter
Do you feel the control to feel heavy
@@bobrobi4328the cyclic has very light control force. Rotorway has a unique cable control system for the cyclic that makes it more laggy in control inputs than other helicopters.
After watching this I'm ready
I need to come eurka for my ship 🚢. This is so nice . I only fly in r22
I started flying would love to complete and buy a two seat 💺 jet motor.
He didn’t wanna stop😅!!
Wow! So stable! Bellissimo
I see you take your safe distance 😊
Looks to get 162f are you still able to get parts from roto x
@@livewire500 lots of parts available in the community.

You go slower and you crash. Otherwise very nice video and great heli!
Really poor camera placement
now you just need turbos, chain guns and adf pod :)
Congrats Trey, I drove 2000 miles to some flying with Joseph Priolo..
Looking good Sir
Wow, looking very good
Strap the helmet or leave it in the car.
Excellent film footage and sound
Excellent film footage and sound.
Thank you for being such an awesome instructor, Joe!
Pretty cool joe
Look at your helo's manual for the dead man's curve and other specifications, def worth looking though the spec's on the machine your flying, given this was 2 yeasr ago u prob are all over this stuff, trans lift, change in main rotor toque means pedal inputs etc.
Nice video. Which insta360 did you use here?
Sweet!!
Excellent 4:14
Excellent
looking good Joe ! 1. You are going to like the Insta 360 .Are you guys coming to Bensen Days ? Maybe see you there !
Yeah the Insta 360 is cool. No I wasn’t planning on going to Bensen days
Thanks for the ride. Did the Rotorway fly about the same? I got to fly with Orv in Missouri and I loved it. Hope to have one by retirement. God bless
No, the Rotorway flew a lot different than the Hughes. Two different types of rotor systems. The Hughes has a more responsive rotor system than the Rotorway but they were both enjoyable to fly nonetheless. I just enjoy the reliability of the Hughes versus the Rotorway.
Thank you Sir.....I wasn't thinking...lol. I appreciate the info. @@josephpriolo1514

Wow, look at all that left pedal for landing. Any left?
Yep got a lot left if needed
Gave up on rotorway after it fell out under you?
Cool man!!
Looking good Joe ! Any plans to buzz Bensen Days ?
I’ve hunted the gap while they were doing strafe runs. It’s an incredible sight and sound.
Nice job
I'm interested in Rotorway (RotorX) and in learning to fly a helicopter. I live in central Florida now (Villages). Any way I can contact you directly?
You can call or text me at 239-560-4359
We saw all the procedures on take off wy did they hide the landing procedures
The C172 and C210 gear rotation has always looked goofy to me but good to see the gear works fine again :)
If only we had this available to us when we were younger! Lol
Hell yeah we would have gotten in so much trouble 🤣
Awesome congrats Trey!!! I am thinking about buying a Rotorway any thoughts on how reliable they are and maintenance wise. I heard do not fly them more then 20 hrs a year ? Any thoughts would be appreciated!!!
I’ve owned a Rotorway for a few years but wouldn’t own one again with the current engine. The Rotorway engine is the weakest point in the helicopter. I’ve experienced multiple engine failures in mine. You need to make sure you constantly look over the machine and check and recheck everything to be safe. These are experimental kit machines and need to be treated as such. They are not built to the same standards as a certified factory built helicopter. If you are not mechanical and willing to tweak and fix minor problems as they pop up you shouldn’t purchase a Rotorway. Not just any mechanic can work on Rotorway. You need someone with knowledge of Rotorway to make sure your machine is running safe. Otherwise I would recommend buying a factory certified built helicopter such as Robison or Schweitzer.
@@josephpriolo1514 thanks for the input that just answered my question. I’m by no means a mechanic so that solves this problem. Had a friend tell me about one for sale in Stuart Fl for $55k with 403 hrs on it . They look fun for sure. Keep up the great videos and training!!!!
Any thoughts about the single seat Mosquito helicopter?
@@michaelreeves9404 I’ve seen the one in Stuart and have hovered it. It’s in good shape would be a good helicopter for the right owner. As I said maintenance is very important. I’ve looked at Mosquito before but haven’t flown one. The factory is top notch and they seem to be very busy building kits. But as I said all experimental kit machines require a high level of attention and respect to stay safe
Really smooth control of that helicopter!
Congrats Trey, and thanks Joe for keeping our guy safe!!! Super proud!
Joseph, Glad to see a new video
