How much time does the grains take time to increase
My neighbor from Central America claims Thourburg Terracotta as the best favor for her dishes and she's cooking every day and they are the only tomato I've eaten whole and 4 different times each time I said WOW!😅😅😅😅 Now we are making salsa and I'll try them in it with some Roma . Thanks I'm seeing many CZcams does love them I recommend them to Gardener Scott and he did and Prairie Plantgirl and she's repeating it saying that it has to do good 2 season before she's calling any tomato a keeper. She suggest that it might be great in ketch-up Thanks
I love homemade kefir blended with frozen fruit and a little stevia and honey to sweeten. It comes out like ice cream.
Never use honey with kefir
Great tutorial !!! I'm new to Kefir making and I love it! I'm pleased to learn how to wash the grains. Thank you for sharing. All the best.
Thanxs for showing elusive kefir grains of homesteading vry critical tip to wash wid distill water not wid chlorinated tap water which kills kefir live cultures
Yes , that is true. I use distilled for everything!
Good list. Terracotta is delicious
Thank you for a very informative video. I love kefir!!
You are welcome! Hope it helps!
Finally the video I wanted, thanks so much
Awesome! I hope it was helpful!
its easier to add milk to the kefir with grains and shake and strain.
I will also give that a try!
This is how we “rinse” grains - only with a little milk 🥛
Milkweed Farms, I subscribed because your videos are super cool!
Thanks so much!
Looks great! I will be trying this
I hope you love it as much as I do! Please let me know!

How much do you sell your grains for ? Thx
15.00 when I have them. I usually just sell them locally
I’ve been making my own avocado oil mayo. So easy to make with an immersion blender and lots cheaper than store bought. Lately I’ve been making ranch dressing with kefir and mayo.
I make kefir so I may have to incorporate that into some of my dressings! Kefir is so healthy!
What to do if the kefir turns out to be too sour
You can test it as you go. Usually 1 day will not make it too sour. I will say that over time, I have developed a taste for the more sour flavor!
Add more milk, shorten ferment. The fresh addition of milk will refresh and sweeten the sour kefir. Set on counter 12 hrs, then put in frig. I've also added MAPLE SYRUP at times.
Try doing a second ferment. After you strain out the grains, add a bit of fruit to the jar and let it sit on the counter again for a few hours, before putting it in the fridge. I’ve used different berries, orange or lemon slices , dates. You only need a couple pieces. The microbes eat on the sugar in the fruit and the flavour of the kefir mellows and gets a little fizzy. PIt also boosts the vitamin content even more. You can reuse the fruit or peel for several batches.
Thanks to all for the info!
@@gailv2989love this info! Thx 😊

Hey friend, I have the tower for my strawberries, so far so good.... Everything is looking so nice & healthy. I've never heard of the walking onion, interesting.
I hadn't either until last year but it just keeps reproducing and lives through the winter here in the midwest!
I am also trying Evil Olive this year. 🤞
Please let me know how they work out for you!
I made my salsa last week. Dr. Wyche's tomato I am growing this year for the first time. I only grow heirloom as I seed save. Haven't heard of the ones you talked about, except the mortgage lifter, i have heard of it
Cindy, I seem to add quite a few new varieties each year. I may have thousands of tomato seeds. They are my favorite thing to grow!
Our favorite tomato for sandwiches is Thornburn's Terra-Cotta. I'm excited to see what you think. Even my mother, middle child of PennDutch 400 acre dairy farm, asked all season 2023 for the Terra-Cotta tomatoes for sandwiches. We always grow Cherokee Purple which are delicious. Last year, I finally broke down and tried the Thornburn's Terra-Cotta (cost) and we were not disappointed. It will be in every tomato garden we grow from there on out.
Thanks for the input, Roxanne! Now, I am more excited than ever to give them a try! I have not done well with Cherokee purple. They tend to rot on the vine before time to harvest. Maybe I'll give them another try! :)
That’s a great idea I would definitely do that here in Philippines 🇵🇭
It is also great for growing beans! I will be making another for beans very soon!
Great project That looks like Oklahoma are you in Oklahoma?
No I am not in Oklahoma! I am in Missouri.
Thanks, I loveexotictravel!
Me too!
Very helpful thanks for sharing

Oh, Yummmmm! I need to go to Trader Joe's and get some of that shelf stable whipping cream and make those biscuits!!! Biscuits are comfort food!!!! And you are right! A little butter and jelly makes them more than perfect, for breakfast, lunch or dinner!!
I love your basement greenhouse!!!! Your plants are so beautiful and so green!!!
Thanks for the wonderful information. I love your editing skills also! Great job all the way around.
I also cooked mine for quite a while but they have found out from studies I think Ohio University that American elderberries are not as poisonous as those from other countries and they are OK to eat them raw. Of course that's in moderation. I've also found that straining them through a cloth and then squeezing them gets lots and lots more juice out.
What do you do with the extra liquid from the vegetables after roasting?
I just dump it. I don't use it because I want the salsa to be very flavorful and the liquid would dilute the flavor.
Can you do more kitchen videos
Love the videos
thanks
