I'm Steamed !!!!! Powerland Steam UP - Brooks Oregon 2024
Thank you for stopping by and taking a look at the footage that I took today at the powerland steam up in Brooks Oregon.
This was quite an impressive event. I really love the old guys. That really know their stuff. And have been doing this for all these years and keeping this hobby going. Take a look at my channel. There's a short that I put up a few minutes ago were a guy hand builds miniature steam engines. It's pretty impressive. It was probably my favorite part of the event less the miniature steam trains.

Thank you for stopping by and watching Us on our yard sale adventure. This morning and all. We didn't do too bad. We were promised a community sale. However, there was only a few houses participating. I was very surprised. We stayed local and actually didn't do too bad. The big anchor score would be the sale where I got the industrial stuff. After getting a good discussion with the owner, the b...

Yardsale Scores - Live Footage!

Yardsale Footage ! decent Haul It wasn't a bad yarta weekend. Actually, there was lots and lots of sales. However, not a lot of vintage stuff. Then we had to weed through a ton of sales to find anything really. Which in all that is not bad. I can't complain one but , high frequency of sales is what brings good things. Also at every single sale. I personally ask the owners if they have any stove...

Great job
Nice! Great score Steve... Now to match it to one of your mess kits 🙂 Thanks for sharing 👍
PURRRRRRDEEEEEE!!!😎
Damn, that turned out pretty nice! I wondered if you got it or not. Did you make an offer or pay their price?
Thanks, Chad. No I actually offered them 15. And they took it fifteen is a very fair price for those. Twenty five actually is not all that bad, but it's missing its cage. I just happened to have asparaged at home
@@doinsngoins holy cow that was a great buy! Here they go for $50 as you bought it, close to $100 with the cage/pot!!
Yes especially original one's, there newer ones now , and clones such as camp kook , evern the knockoff are still nice to have , Thanks, Chad, thanks for supporting the channel. Buddy and I hope you're having a good week
@@doinsngoins as good as can be. Trying to find a bank that will give me a $2500 auto loan so I can buy this camera van, but they don't want to work with me because I'm on disability and don't use their banks. You'd think a guy with a 740+ credit score and absolutely 0 debt could get a loan easily haha
Thank you for sharing your stove with us, Steve. Stay safe and stay cool
Thank you, I will
You do the same , great scores this week Sean !
Awesome!
Definitely yard work today. 😂
Oh man Dean , Well, at least maybe you can play a little bit afterwards. I hope you're having a good week, buddy

There's more to this story than you may realize, Coleman went to France years ago and supposedly bought out a Gaz production plant and literally took their valve assembly and applied the American style connector and came up with the Peak1. The first Peak1 propane stoves with a black knob actually still has the original Gaz blue knob underneath it. So here's what I did, I bought obsolete Gaz lanterns dirt cheap on Ebay then I went to Walmart and bought Peak 1 propane stoves when on sale. Unscrew stove burner and screw on Gaz lantern after removing it's European style valve and there you go . Oh you do have to pop open the peak one plastic housing to remove the folding pot stand leafs but it easily snaps right back together. The Gaz lanterns are superbly made with fogged globes and it's great to bring them back to life. So don't throw that lantern away and keep the stove parts in a pouch so you can always switch back if in need of a small stove. I learned all this by hours of reading blogs where I found this old timer who figured all this out and he was spot on. I now have multiple style Gaz micro lanterns and they all work with the peak1 iso propane valves. I really enjoyed you video on your particular lantern and I just purchased a old Featherlite peak1 and it's working wonderfully. Great little lanterns.
Holy cow, Chuck, this is fantastic information. Thank you for sharing this here on my channel. I'm going to look into this for sure . I have questions. However, off to work , I may hit you back up if you don't mind . Thank you !
Coolest thing I’ve seen today!
Some of my fondest memories. My estranged father in the 70s would pick me up twice a year and take me to train town, and he would drop me off there. And I would ride these trains the entire day. While he was in the tavern across the street. Best times I ever had.
Where is the coffee pot ??

Some pretty amazing engineering in those steam engines! My grandfather had a steam pump of some sort...it was all in a bunch of pieces under the garage...never actually saw it together and working...but he used to pump water uphill from a stream to the house until they got their well dug. All sold off after his passing.
Oh wow, Bruce. That's pretty cool. Thank you for sharing that. I wonder if those parts are still underneath that house even to this day
@@doinsngoins No, most everything that had any value was all sold off for practically nothing to an antique dealer who must have had his eye on the place for some time. He contacted my mom's sister and sold everything without her first letting the family see if they wanted anything.
that is cool
Okay, I saw you do something that my grandfather always did and that was while shaking salt on his food he would always shake salt on the side of his hand or wrist. He could never tell me why and would just say that he didn't know or that it was nothing but a habit. Just a little something that caught my attention and triggered a memory. You two certainly didn't hold back from eating some pretty good food! lol
There was some very cool old machinery there! All that old steam driven equipment is pretty fascinating!
Great video! I love the hit and miss engines. I went to a local car show where someone had one hooked up to an ice cream churn, it was great! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing, that sounds AWESOME 👌 👏 👍 😍 💖 😀
Nice 👍 that looks delicious!

That looks fun
WOW that place looks unreal!!! what a cooool place to see!!! thanks for the excellent footage<<<<
What a cool place to visit with the kids and adults alike . Fascinating I love the fact that there are people dedicated to keeping this technology around to be enjoyed by all . The swap meet puts it over the top ! Thanks for sharing Steve
What marvel these steam engines are. In the blink of an eye, they replaced the horse. These shows are great. I attend a few in my area. The swap meets are always filled with needy things. Cool stuff😀👍🏻🇺🇲
All kinds of goodies. And love hit and miss engines.
Wow 😮 Sooo much going on Steve.. An excellent video! A day full of engineering genius.. Restorations 1st class and the largest amount of stoves and lanterns from around the world I have seen in one place at the same time. I would have definitely invested money and shed space happily at this event.. So many toys.. Thanks for sharing
Come on out next year , gotta be honest, I was skimming, so much more to explore, it was hot and I was in turbo mode .
I like the make and break engines. They used to go for almost nothing at farm sales when I was a kid. Thank you for taking us along, Steve. Stay safe and stay cool
Thanks for watching!
Got to love these old make and break engines. Thank you for sharing them with us, Steve. Stay safe and stay cool
got a sasquatch carving at an estate sale on the weekend. Not quite this big. Thank you for showing this to us, Steve. Stay safe and stay cool
Just watch your entire video. What an amazing score you had this weekend. Love the squatch !
The next town up the road has a festival every September. They will have a lot of the big steam engine tractors and all kinds of hit and miss engines. I try to go every year.
Thanks, Michael. I would love to see some footage from that festival next year
Just awesome! And yes! I am proud!😎😁 That's some awesome eatz right there! I think you should be hungry just in time for Turkey Foot! 😎👍🏻🔥☕🥓
Ha ha. You just wait till Turkey foot. I've got some stuff planned for eats.
That's a cool machine show..
Thanks Krubbs ❤️
Lovely bits of kit. The blue one is mint Steve.
Your show looks super!!!! 👌
Thanks, Mike. It was a blast if you ever out this way in the first weekend of August. Look me up and we'll go
The engines are totally awesome. Looks, like a blast. Saw the Humphrey propane with the lighting hole globe. They are a fav of mine to easily Light a 200 style lantern.
I remember Dalton. I think that is around the time where you and I met. So this person that had that booth was nowhere to be found for about 40 minutes. And I stuck around and finally, he came back. He went to get something to eat. And he wanted 65 for that lantern and I offered him 20. Because that's all. I really wanted to spend. I knew it was worth more. You said 50. We reselled on 40 and I got that little red bag. That goes with it, and if it's, it fits the lantern perfectly.
Now I need to figure out how to run a propane. Hose to it as I want to run that lantern as I found it
We had Union Pacific's big boy stop and got to see that .I love steam.power I collect steam guages ,and whistles. We also got a lot of steam traction engines here in iowa.
Awesome, is that what you actually call? Those little trains are steam traction. Engines, I'm just curious. I read something along that lines today. When I was trying to figure out what the gauge of those trains actually are.
