      I'm not sure of the model number of the lens. But try looking for the correct mount online based on the camera body model.

    hi! im planning to pick up this camera on fb marketplace for 20bucks. lovely photos and such a cute dog. may i ask if you shot on auto? or did you shoot on shutter priority and everything else is on auto?

    • @comebackformat
      @comebackformat Před 5 měsíci

      I normally shoot on shutter speed priority to make sure the image is sharp. I try to keep it above 1/120 shutter speed. However I will shoot manual in tricky lighting situations. It's a great film camera. You will have fun with it.

      @@comebackformatthank you for the response! i appreciate it! it will be my first time doing film. can i ask if i’m planning to get the Fujicolor c200, should i set my ISO only on iso200? if i’m gonna shoot on shutter priority, can i shoot it on iso200? or will it be on auto since it’s shutter priority? sorry for the questions, i’m new to film.

    • @comebackformat
      @comebackformat Před 5 měsíci

      No problem. You should shoot with ISO set the same as the film ISO for the metering to work correctly. Some cameras will identify the film ISO based on its barcode and set it automatically but I don't remember if this camera has that. After setting the ISO you can shoot either manual or shutter priority or aperture priority (however you want) but the ISO stays unchanged unless you manually change it in the camera settings. Have fun!

    I started using the holga this year, the 120N, 120gcfn, 135bc, the 135tim and the Diana f and Diana mini, these are best cameras for artists, for experimentation, double exposures, light leaks, and wierd film. I use Jch streetpan for great contrast and Kodak gold 200 for color, got a velvia and ektachrome that I'm going to try next. Ive also shot 35mm film in the holga with some adapters. There are really so many possibilities with these cameras. There is a big community of people using these cameras mostly for the multiple and inverted exposures which are the best and most fun to shoot. I've yet to try iso 100 Fuji Acros on it but seen many people use it. I've tried using step down rings to screw on the plastic lens so I can attach uv, red or yellow filters on it. Will attempt to do infrared someday with this. Just a tip will be to always use the holga on a cloud setting, it's better as the shutter vary from 80-120 speed. And to tape all opening gaps front and back with gaffers tape. Tape up the back window or use a plastic door to only open when advancing film and keeping it shut always. Put two pieces of sponges on the internal back cover to help hold the film in place so when winding the film doesn't puff up causing light leaks later. Hope this helps.

    • @comebackformat
      @comebackformat Před 9 měsíci

      Thanks, those are great tips. I just recently bought some more film for my Holga so I'll be trying it again. It's definitely one of the best cameras for experimentation.

    Thanks for making this video! After shooting with a Holga for 3 months, these are some of the things I’ve found. I prefer shooting with B & W. I found with color film everything was muddy. I wish I’d done a test roll to check the different focus lengths. Also, since the viewfinder and the lens are totally independent of each other, what you see isn’t what you get. I crop most of my photos as the lens captures way more than what you see in the viewfinder. And you are so right about having a system. I shot four frames with the lens cap on today and one with the wrong focus distance. Sigh.

    • @comebackformat
      @comebackformat Před rokem

      Lol yeah this is the kind of camera that pays off to have a system. I like it though. It makes it more rewarding at the end. I like that the film is a lot bigger compared to 35mm. Wish it was a bit cheaper though 😂. Thanks for watching!

    Just go this film. Maybe the exposure control has to be set on lighter side while using this type of film? It'd be good to see a quick comparison of standard exposure and lighter exposure using this film.

    • @comebackformat
      @comebackformat Před rokem

      It would depend on the lighting situation that you're in when shooting. When I use any kind of 600 film I usually adjust the exposure on the lighter side because the film needs lots of light. I didn't have the option to adjust the exposure with this test but I might the next time I shoot with it.

    I agree with you - the best part of shopping at the thrift stores is the thrill of the hunt, and the excitement of finding a really cool camera.
