Nice video with the most annoying sound track I have ever heard.

Sort of, it was the first time they had done that obstacle so it didn't have a name yet. However it was electrified on the barbed wire. And the water was filled with ice. So it was a mix of electric eel and Arctic enema.

Great video! My helmet cam bombed out, so I got ZERO video. This helps me relive it a bit.

ran up to a guy on the event and said he lost his gopro on walk the plank and now they have a camera and batteries to donate lol =)

Speaking of charging GoPro batteries, I lost my wallet pouch thing on Funky Monkey with 4 batteries. My guess is that it is in a zip lock bag at the bottom of the hole right now being burried in mud. Thankfully the battery i had in there hung in there until the end.

Most logs from the pile are anywhere from 15-30lbs. There are a few super big ones and a bunch of smaller ones too. Ones that are wet are obviously considerably heaver too. Mine was about 20lbs.

I think there are something like 40 or 45 scheduled in 2012, for Tough Mudder. There are other mud runs too. All seem to be any weather, any time of year. Half the fun is doing it in various conditions and locations. Check the Tough Mudder website for the event schedule for TM.

Problems? None, i love the darn thing. I've done 3 mudders with it and it has performed like a champ (under water, mud, sand, you name it). I also went skydiving with it and a wrist mount and it worked great. My only wish is that i had bought the GoPro Hero2 instead of the 1 because it has more bells and whistles and modules hook-ups. It was hard to justify the extra $100 at the time but in retrospect i wish i had gone for it.

I used the GoPro with a head mount strap. Though i rarely had it mounted in my head. Most times i was holding it wrapped in my hand facing back inwards. Its a fantastic camera.

I think this is fun, but my parents ran this marathon and the live wires I think takes it too far. When they ran it, there were a few dozen people who passed out from the electric shock of the wires. The one in front of my bad it permanently brain damaged... Makes you think if all of that shit is worth it.

@schroedboss - Santa! Glad you got to see the video, you were a riot. I'm also glad to know that you werent cold, you know, being used to the weather and all.... right?

@260stoneridge - You are going to have a blast! I'd imagine its still going to be a bit cold? The course at Badlands is good fun, SO MUCH MUD! I dont think the mud even counted as obstacles on the course, it was just accepted as the terrain in between obstacles lol.

Man what a blast, that was just plain wicked. I think the only small shock i got was when i first entered the obstacle. Every other one was one of those big ones where your legs collapse and you see stars. I am SO GLAD i didnt get any straight in the head or face!

Trail running for sure, jumping in a cold pool fully clothed and then going for a run (its important to know what it feels like to run with wet shoes), I filled my bath with ice cubes and water and sat in it for two minutes (certainly do this one), ran through a river, and just about anything else i could think of that was out of the ordinary. Good luck!

@priyashah001 - Oh man! i hope you made it off the course ok. What nobody carried you through the rest of the obstacles?! =) Im sorry to hear you got busted up, and am very glad to hear the video helps show your friends that you are one Tough Mudder! One of our group had to stop around mile 7 due to severe cold related problems.

Thanks for posting this. I did the tough mudder on Nov 20th, but couldnt finish it as I broke my ankle at mile 8- but this video shows the toughness of the mudder

I RAN THE 9:40 EVENT!!!!! i was the first one off the starting line and by about a 1/4 mile i was probably running with the 11:00 wave lol but i completed every obstacle and i am now a tough mudder!!! cant wait till March for round 2

@pezdogz83 - I used the GoPro camera with a head strap (which was included) for the first-person shots. The shots where im in the scene i'm holding the cam out and pointing it back at me. The GoPro has a really nice wide angle lense. You can get a sense of the cam and its strap in the scene where im going through the ice in the mystery obstacle.

@danielmi8 - I love it, that may be the best response yet. I had a very similar experience explaining why to my kids. Funny, they just accept it. But when I'm asked by adults, "why do you do it" that response doesnt hold as much weight as i think it should =)
