What a stupid, annoying commercial.

I have to assume that the original script called for the boy to be driving... then everything is fine, he's driving her home, HER parents are there... makes sense, boy apologises for the damage to their driveway... Parents seem to be overbearing, but no, it's for the insurance... cute story. But no... that's not enough. Putting the girl in the driver's seat is popular these days, so let's do that! And sure, that's fine... but you forgot to adjust the whole premise to make it work! This is what happens when you hire morons to create commercials. Sorry, but there's no other way to make sense of this... it's really, really dumb! So, please, explain to me why I should trust anyone who signed off on this?! Anyone?

On some stations (hello MovieTime) this ad sometimes gets played 2-3 times on the commercial breaks. It’s horrible.

First, the girl has a Quebec accent while the parents have none. Ok, maybe she was orphaned. So, next, the driving girl says “this is me”. If she’s driving, shouldn’t the last stop be her house? Next, the guy in the passenger seat apologizes for the car. Why? He wasn’t driving so couldn’t possibly have been responsible for it. It’s very refreshing to see an insurance company that doesn’t spend a huge budget on commercial writing, casting and acting. I’m sure the money they saved with the commercial went directly into an executive raise.

This ad had to be written by AI because a human writer should have realized that it doesn’t make sense for the girl to drive back to her own house and say “This is me.” while the boyfriend apologizes for the girl wrecking her parents car.

This commercial is pure genius. The dialogue is brilliant. The woman who plays the mom is brilliant, the actors who play the daughter and ‘her little friend’ are brilliant. Makes me wish I lived in Ontario so I could subscribe to your insurance. Thanks for grin.

My car was totalled by a reckless driver while it was lawfully parked. It was a very traumatizing experience, even if I were not in the car, but the people at Belair were really wonderful and supportive. Thank you Belair!

Why do the the daughter and boyfriend sound French Canadian, Sean while the parents sound like native English speakers?

This ad is totally annoying and plays way too much. But my biggest pet peeve is the accents of all the actors; they all seem to be French-Canadian trying to speak English. The mother is the only one who succeeds to any degree - the daughter & boyfriend definitely do NOT succeed. And why is the boyfriend apologizing when the daughter is the one behind the wheel? And the father isn't mad but blames it on the "tricky driveway"? Ugh - literally nothing about this ad makes sense!

Pretty sure they overdubbed the father's voice. Isn't he the actor from JAG?
