I'm sorry but this is like watching paint dry. I love the model and the overall demonstration but I really found watching water drain rather boring I'm afraid. For the CZcams video I would have suggested you sped up that part or cut a lot and dissolved to a further point in time. Not to be be too nitpicky.

Aside from the birds singing and the wind blowing on the microphone, the first two minutes of this video might almost have just been a still.

Why was it taking an eternity to fill up the lock?

It's not nothing, the gravity was pushing the water to the next lock from valves under the water. It takes a while.

We have in Panama some locks of them in the Panama Canal.

Very good, was there a purpose to the model as such? Ie, is it not being used for training/entertainment uses? Presumably there is a 'back pumping station' to maintain the level of the top pound, with culverts to moved the water around, but no gate paddles.

I'm looking at the canal it's self and thinking of a way to make that bigger. I need it to be able to get a large amount of water at least one mile. I could do it if I tried and made it deep enough. Dig deep enough and wide enough so that it doesn't fail when the river water rushes towards it. I'm not sure if it will work but I still want to try.
