Made progress on this old 1948 dodge 1.5 ton truck. Got it running for the first time in over 25 years! Replaced the head gasket, got some valves un-stuck and ultra sonic cleaned the carburetor. Stay tuned for more progress with this classic old farm truck!

Bringing back to life my 2005 kawasaki klx 110 pit bike. From beaing left for dead to running this bike will be better then new when complete. Replacing a bunch of parts with oem kawasaki parts, yoshimura exhaust system, hammerhead shifter, acerbis plastics, dunlop mx33 tires. Stay tuned for more updates and progress with this dirt bike.

Must of been a similar bike build.
I was an apprentice at Maico and the owner of an MC 440. Due to the expected Kickstarter setback, we had a different starting procedure. Tilt the motorcycle slightly on its side, step on the kick starter with your right foot and then, hopefully in time, let your foot slide backwards off the kick starter immediately after the step. We were always warned that some US boys broke their foot while kicking a Maico 😉

how much different it is compared to stock one? just ordered a silencer for my exc 250 -13, later on the full pipe maybe. :D
Honestly couldnt tell you because i have never rode the bike with the stock pipe on it. I instantly lit this one on.
You have to "tickle" the bing carb! My Dad owned 11 Maico's. Use your two fingers to block each of the overflow hoses on the carb. Then depress the black drain / tickle button to flow fuel into the carb. Should then only take 3 kicks at max to start.

You've obviously never tried to start to make go before you have to use your right leg stand on the left side of the bike you'll never start it like that
I start it with my left all the time. Usually 3rd kick. That was the first start in a couple years with the engine being fogged

You have to flood big two stokes by laying them over. You can see why many ankles and kick start get broke. Motomadandy 62 old school mx😂

I think der Germans should have hooked up with the Japs in the 80s to keep upgrading their scooters. Its a shame, My 84 Cr500r was technically superior to those bikes..shulda, woulda, coulda.🤷♂️

I had a 1980 model , you had to lay it over till gas ran out of the carb overflow tube then kick
The rear suspension stinks on that year. Twin shock set up much better . You ride it so good

Where’s your case saver due
Rather have the chain take out the plastic cover. They rip the case half off. I own two bike that are missing a chunk of the case where the threads are. Bought them that way but with that engine design i dont think it benefits it to have it on.

My bad the 82s were breaking the story was it caused the company to go bankrupt...a member of the family got 3rd in the world championship 250 class named hans maish i think i might have spelled it wrong
Youre 83 would bust the frames if youre fast...shock ..the reason we didnt get those was they were a failed company..i had a yz490 with a broc glover top end and pipe ohlins crome bore...dominated on that as well..but my heart was allways with maico..
Back then in 86 these trucks would go past 500 thousand miles dudes on the nationals
