This is the one and only Drummer that I would like to see join Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson for a “Rush” tour! Carl Palmer is from the old school of Prog Rockers,that I respect very very much! He,in his own right,is the perfect Drummer to step up into Neil Pearts place,not as a replacement,but,a continuation of Rushes Legacy. I know that I’m not the only Rush devote thinking this way! Maybe it had been mentioned,or suggested to Geddy and Alex,God only knows,I sure do hope so. That would be a dream come true for me,and the multitudes of “Rush” devoted fans. I qualify as a devoted Rush fan,saw them on 8 tours,and I saw ELP in 1977. I also got to see Carl Palmer at the Brick by Brick club in San Diego in 2010,I was honored to meet Carl and got his autograph on my ticket stub along with his young new band mates. Carl Palmer kicks ass! He has the energy,the drive,and the skills to step into a band like “Rush!” Please keep in context,not a replacement for Neil Peart,but a continuation of a great legacy that is “Rush!” I hope that all who read my comments,understand this hopeful dream,of my vision,and what possibilities could lay ahead. I keep up the hope,that these “3” legendary musicians will somehow make this this connection. J.Kane San Diego,a “Rush devote,” and “Carl Palmer” fan for Life!

I'm about as impressed as Steve Howe looks. Carl Palmer; the master at single-stroke rolls. A couple of stick tricks and they call it a solo. Completely unimpressive... Sorry I'm not sorry 😴

Love Carl but my gosh his timing at 3:15 jumped SO far ahead of the beat. I've always loved his drum solos he' s a true master but he has this speedy thing at times. I'm an ex pro (won't reveal who I am) and NO I can't solo like Carl (who can) but one thing I could do was keep solid time ,just saying. Hey this is ASIA! However I come and watch his solos they are mind blowing. I'd say he knows all the technique you could possibly know

GOAT! Carl Palmer is the only rock drummer I know that sounds similar to Buddy Rich. Buddy is the GOAT of all drummers, and Carl Palmer is the GOAT of rock drummers. Not Neil Peart, Not John Bonham. And this is coming from a lifelong Led Zeppelin fan, and an admirer of all things RUSH.

Buddy Rich gave a quote to Johnny carson when asked about Carl Palmer it was like this as long as he stays on his side of the Pond

If you look at his solo from a musical stand point its pretty boring. There aren’t any interesting rhythms. Such as Polyrhythms and nested tuplets, etc.

I met Carl Palmer personally at a drum clinic lovely chap also got his autograph.

I love Carl but I don’t know about the fastest because I seen tons of people on CZcams that can fling some sticks with some jaw dropping speed, as they say no such thing as the best because there’s always somebody better

This was 13 years ago, and he's still at it. And still just as awesome. His next chapter is coming up. Just wait and see, it he will be amazing.
