Smooth Transitions on the Octatrack with Slide Trigs – Hidden Gems of the Octatrack MKII 💎

The Octatrack MKII is known as a beast but it's not always hard to do things; sometimes, it's merely hidden. In this video, we see how to use slide trigs to create a smooth transition. It's a very simple technique, but I hope it'll help you!

Excellent stuff! For the first technique with the snare, I find that I can hide the pitch better if I set Pitch to minimum (-24.0).

4:04 it doeesn't sound like you actually say how to switch tracks without triggering - that can be done by holding down TRACK and pressing the track you want to switch to...
Just got my Model:Cycles and this video really unlocked it for me! Great tutorial and awesome vibes, I think the Elektron is a great ambient machine and I'm loving making these kinds of sounds with it

Fuck it I think I’ll get one. Was thinking I should splurge on the digitone to pair with my takt but this seems far simpler and therefore more like an instrument that will inspire. I tend to get bogged down in the minutiae of sound design etc in music production.
I’ve got a Digitone too and I find that it’s really harder to have fun with (jamming style), although it’s of course more capable (studio production style). I would start with the M:C as it’s also relatively inexpensive and easy to buy/sell secondhand 🙂

I’ve been looking for the GATE feature on the digitakt. I know it’s done with the LFO but I can’t make it play continuously. Do you know how to give life to it on the Digitakt?
I think you need to make a conditional trig by pressing Shift and the trig you want to play continuously (it should be blinking) 🙂

I had Samples and Cycles for a while, I sold the Samples (I had too many Samples to justify keeping it) but I kept the Cycles thanks to your videos, after using many of your tricks I don't think I'll sell it because I fell in love with this machine, I think its price would never compensate me for a sale, it has its own soul.
