I heard a drum n bass track and said, let’s learn how to. As I started, it kinda stopped. Let me listen for a pattern. Let me then go explore. Instead of trying to replicate, let’s pull some stuff out the cabinet and use my ears to taste. Put in a few steps. Keep the kick consistent. Add probability to everything else. Use auto fill of drum computer. Tweak a few knobs, especially while playing....

I've been neglecting this beast. had to pull out the vacuum and dust it off! Bad me! all sounds coming from MM2. Running inside of AUM through a compressor and limiter. OXI sending marching orders via midi out into MM2. minifuse 2 used to route the audio into the iPad Recording done via iPad with screen record.

Koala sampler got an update today. Headline was a Cyclic timestretch recreating classic timestretch effects of 90's samplers. The melodic part of this jam was me coughing into the mic, using the cyclic time stretch, chopping into three slices, placing some random steps on the sequencer that sounded good, adding some kicks, snares and high hats than marching out a few variations over 8 different...

Cleared all social media apps off the iPad. Trying to be more productive with my time. No clue what apps were used. I just load AUM, scroll until I find something and play. I feel I learn something more than reading the same style of posts on social media.

Great tip. It confirmed what I suspected the other day. When I tried, did get midi data but it kept doing weird stuff like changing programs etc on the synth. Disabled split and worked fine.

you are welcome. That is a tough call. I use headphones and don't have any speakers. So many things go into that. Primarily your space. What are you trying to do. Produce or have fun. My suggestion, I hate saying this, is search on youtube or google for what you will be using them for. Another piece of advice, don't research too long. Grab something, rock it and see if it is for you. Know your return policy. Good luck
"Nature more". Yes perhaps when my body start working again I will follow that advise, until then it is glued-to-the-screen time for me. Liked your iPad blooming. Eye opener: no modular will help you bloom more, keep that wallet closed.

You just had to rub in the fact that I returned the best synth I ever felt, the Novation Summit was printed over that truck in the front. Lol. Also, yes if I see this footage my mind goes to what gear is this, what camera was in it, how was the footage so smooth. And I wanted to go online and buy a drone kit myself, like I have almost done many times now. I almost forgot to listen to your talk. I woke up in time to get the core of it. Thank you Wabbit.

I 100% agree with you. Just have fun! Do the things that bring YOU joy, explore in the areas that interest YOU. If you want to challenge yourself in a particular area - do it! If you just want to play around - do it. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I personally enjoy videography, i enjoy tinkering with things, i love making music and i love to push myself to see if i can make things better, prettier etc etc. I don't do it to please an audience. I do it because it gives me joy and fills me with that giddy kid-like excitement when something i want to create, hits the mark that i've set for myself. When people like it, sure.. it's super gratifying. But first and foremost.. it makes ME happy. TLDR: Be creative in a way that makes you happy. There are no rules, only the ones you set for yourself.

Another fart for the history book. I like how you seem to relax and push the buttons, and for a moment nothing else matters. Also the drum app never disappoints.
Something fun about using my ears. Provided the old man hairs are kept at bay as to not filter the sounds. DrumComputer handles all the turns of any road course.

@@krazywabbit hey , thank you for your fast replies, I was able to make Gadget work(audio in and out and midi ) so its looking great combined with the exit setting you shared, the only thing left is the posibility to send the mix in audio(coming from the J6) thru the USBC to gadget, but that seems not possible, have you ever tried this?

I recently got the Zoom R4, and while it sounds great, I'm having issues with cable management and troubleshooting to get everything routed the way I want. I'm also not finding a reliable workflow with my iPad, so I think I'll have to return it. Personally, I prefer a minimal setup, and I wish manufacturers would put all inputs and outputs on the back, except maybe the headphone jack on the front. With the R4, the front inputs and side headphone jack make it difficult to place the gear properly if you have any desire for a zen like setup which i think a lot of ipad users do. The SP 404 MK2 does a great job with input/output placement, and the Digitakt is also quite good in my opinion. The only other audio interface I have is the Arturia MiniFuse, and it also drives my OCD a bit crazy with the front inputs.
It’s a massive love hate relationship for me with the mini fuse. I thought it was going to make life easier. Whoops.

It may sound superficial, but I also just really hate the design of the new "essentials" lineup. Old H6 looks like a tool. It's timeless, it's functional, it's simple. Why in the world does the H6E (and other devices in the lineup) look like some "gaming" peripheral from 2010? Why all the sharp angles? Why jarring blue buttons? Who looked at this design and said "yeah, that's what the professional equipment should look like"?
Very valid point. That thought crossed my mind to. I too shrugged it off initially. Sometimes we try to do too much. Sometimes the customer is to blame for wanting new. What’s wrong with keeping the old design but updating the engine. Guess when we are in the minority, no one listens. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
