Tariq went through an actual ego death.. The two parts of him is shadow and his ego. Tariq killed his father, but in this scene him shooting himself represents the integration of his shadow. So going foward he uses his FULL potential. The good and the bad. It also represents how he is kinda like his father in alot of ways but just didnt want to admit it before.
