Such a great band & lovely people. They played our field at Glastonbury Festival, this year. Also twice before & then in my home town. Meeting them was a joy not possible on The Pyramid Stage.

Ermagherd! This is where Tim Minchin recorded the greatest version of Hallelujah I've ever heard! Of course Mz. Ballentine performed my favorite song of hers. Queen and the Soldier is a CLOSE fecking second. I guess if you have this kind of raw, unbridled talent in that shed, I should just subscribe and get introduced to artists I've never heard of.

I'm so impressed with Amelia. Just found out about her, while listening to the radio last night. She's amazing. I'll be going to see her in Glasgow at the end of May. But I'm not a fan of this cover. I realise it's my own connection to this song that's not allowing me to like this cover but the tone is all wrong for me. It's technically brilliant but it's too lighthearted, too whimsical. This lyric is one of the most biting, chilling pieces of poetry ever penned by a songwriter. It's full of sadness and menace. The line 'I think about my wife, cos they took the keys and she'll think it's me" fills me with horror every time I hear it. So much so that I can't listen to the original too often. I couldn't have learned it as meticulously as Amelia has. Huge kudos for that. I just don't get the sense she's been affected by this song the way it always affects me. I suppose that's what I don't like about this cover. I could have just said that.
