Thanks for starting up again. Your vocal range and Croce’s are similar. That’s fortunate. I sometimes try to sing songs I like, but are not in my range. Also enjoyed hearing how you met.
Hi Gary! I really love your version of Recently by Jim Croce, can you do a tutorial of the song? I've been trying to learn this song for quite some time, thank you!
Fantastic job. My all time favorite Fogelberg song (Another Auld Lang Syne is close). Great rendition, harmonies, guitar work, everything. Very hard to get through that song with a dry eye. Thanks for doing this one.
Love the Ed Sheehan song. James Taylor’s always toward the top of my list. You are one of the few people I have heard doing the actual JT chord progression (which I love) on that song. Those sliding notes are sweet!
Thanks Dave. Yeah, that James Taylor slides were tough for me to get, but they are actual in a couple different songs, I love the chord progression on the JT song too!
Listened to this episode up at the lake. Really enjoyed both songs...I’ve got a name is always great and you do Croce very well. I had never heard of Bill Wilson before you did one of his songs but I’m intrigued by his music so I’ve got to check out more of his stuff.
Great rendition. Where can I find the tab for the song. I had it once back in 1986, but I lost it. Listening to you inspires me to pick up my guitar again.
Sorry Kwan, i didn’t see this until now. Thanks for your comments. I actually don’t have the tab, I just figured it out from another CZcams video. The part Jim played was in G, the part Maury played was Capo 7 and using C chording pattern. I hope you did pick up your guitar again…..it’s amazing, but i can always learn something new on guitar…even after 47 years of playing!
Gary, great music, set up and song insight. Wish you and your family well. Suggestion, put all the episode songs on a CD collection in time for Christmas. It would be great driving music . I can think of a few people I would like to give your music. CW
Little known fact; every song on Jackson Browne's first four albums consisted of perfect rhymes. No near rhymes, no close enough, ALL perfect rhymes. That's a nigh crazy devotion to craft and discipline.
Hi Gary, Good job rockin' your Grissom Air Museum tee shirt. You look good and you sound great! May your uncle Lou rest in peace. "Long live Rock n' Roll!" "Music is the universal language & love is the key!" Visit the Grissom Air Museum and Gary's Music Cafe!
Another good show Gary... especially likes Two of Us and James Taylor version of your last song...409 was good, especially The Beach Boys harmonic touch, but the two have been favs of mine fir a long time
Thanks Dave. I really enjoy the harmony part on Two of Us. So cool. It’s just a nice grooving song. And the water is wide is one of Sherry’s all-time favorites
Thank you Nora. Been a tough and busy week with Sherry just a week out from knee replacement and my Uncle Lou passing. Hope all is well with you and your family.
Gary...sorry to hear about your uncle. And Linda wants to know about Sherry’s surgery and we both hope she’s doing well. The boxer was always one of my favorites. Love the harmonies and some very nifty guitar work. I had never heard Indiana Song before but it had somewhat of a John Prine vibe to it. (Which I really like). Love story songs. The guitar between verses is and at the end is really interesting.
Thanks Dave. Learned that intro to the Boxer from a CZcams video...lol. Never would be able to sort that out myself. Thanks for the condolences...and Sherry is doing really, really well after her knee surgery. Thanks for asking!
Impressive range on your vocals tonight...Free Fallin’ was awesome, nice to hear a Hoosier in there with Mellencamp too. But you Know I always love me some Gordon Lightfoot!
Thanks Dave, I always appreciate your comments. Had you heard that Gordon Lightfoot song previously? He’s got a Lotta good stuff. If you have his album Gord’s gold, it’s just simply outstanding
Yes, I had heard it but a long time ago. I have no Lightfoot albums right now but he is on my Pandora list. Used to have a “best of” collection but loaned & list like many others.
Love this song and your performance -- looking forward to your return after Labor Day.
Thanks so much Sabrina! Hope you all are doing well!!

Thanks for starting up again. Your vocal range and Croce’s are similar. That’s fortunate. I sometimes try to sing songs I like, but are not in my range. Also enjoyed hearing how you met.
Thanks Jason! It’s true my range is more a Croce than a John Lennon….lol. Good to hear from you!
Tom Petty was/is a national treasure. Nice work on the over-dubbing!
Thank you for starting your channel again! I've missed this so much! This song really resonates with me, on a deeply personal level.

Thanks Terri. I truly appreciate your kind words…
Can't wait fot grandbaby #5!!!!! Nancy (nana)
I like the part when you smile at the line “loving you in our 70s” so lovely 😻

@@garygillund8246 he uses those slide notes in almost every song as well as the changing hammered notes…I love all that.
Hi Gary Nice to see you always
Thanks Kinda! I hope you and your family are well!

Another winner! Loved the Mellencamp song..one of my favorites of his. Are you still writing songs? I’d like to hear more of them.
Thanks Dave.....I’ve written probably 20 songs that are halfway decent. I’ll try to put some of the better ones in upcoming shows....
Great choices, Gary! You are such an amazing musician/vocalist-thank you for sharing your talents with us!
Thanks Terri... I appreciate it! I just wish Annalisa could be here to sing with me....
