I been wanting one of these for years, wish I could have one but I guess I’ll have to keep looking around for one 😁👍
Keep an eye out. Maybe even put an ad in g scale and disney groups.
This was created after my birthday
Nice runner. You may want to freshen up the cylinder gland with new graphite packing.
Good idea. Too bad the boiler needs to be rebuilt. Need to do that first. Havr to find someone to do the job.
Steam whistle collection tour?
I do not have a narrative voice to explain but guess I could try.
How did you get him ?
Co worker had an extra.
It looks great! Fantastic job!
Thank you. Happy to have it.
Did you build it yourself or did you buy it somewhere?
@Fudgey100 bought it. It was very hard to come by sadly and took years. Came out in 2005 for disneylands' 50th Anniversary. 1500 were made, and being it didn't sell well, no further releases were made sadly, making it hard to find one and, if found, affordable. Happy I have one now.
Cool
I have one about to list it on eBay or the Facebook market. Saw one about 4 years ago and went over $2,500 on eBay. It's a nice little engine
Holy crap...ive been looking for the "Movin' On" horns for years.
Ya, they're grover horns. Individual horns put together. Models 1054 and 1055. Forgot the lengths, but I think one is 37 inches and the other 35 inches.
@@khriscamacho1212 now I just have to finally find someone to say what the Convoy Mack sound clip came from (not the horns that are actually on the truck)
@@ctbradey check Facebook. May be some truck groups you can join to find out.
@@ctbradey The sound clip is from a Hadley Bully Air Horn, dual tone. I don't know the model number, but based on a few others I've encountered, it would probably be model 700. You can get the same type of sound from from a Hadley 900 or 910 series (Newer, square sound unit), an old Fiamm/Signaltone Fultone, a very similar Sparton horn, or the Bendix/Bendix Westinghouse PH-2.
@@DMTruckSpotting I'm checking these out. I've yet to find one with the right pitch. They're all too low. Though they do sound close.
And roy o disney's chime
Good stuff!
Looks great ...good set up and great camera shots. Thanks
Thanks 👍

2:17 is the famous Buckeye 3 inch 3 chime whistle. For the longest time, locomotives 1, 2, and 3 at Walt Disney World wore this whistle. As of 2024, only the No. 2 locomotive still has the Buckeye. The No. 1 was given a new Baldwin 5 inch 3 chime whistle in December 2023, and the No. 3 was given a Lonergan 3.5 inch 3 chime in early 2014.
Yeah. Buckeye, the same sounding whistle. Was happy to find one knowing how long they were used. I know there's been some changes lately with the whistles used. I want to find the whistles used the longest on all disney railroads.
I get them for the history, sound, and connection with disney, but if you'd like one, they're sold by collectors. It's a stock whistle, not made specifically for disney. Buckeye sold whistles, I believe, till the late 50s. Newest whistles.
@@khriscamacho1212 gotta check it out in the future. Thanks!
@@khriscamacho1212 update on Walter: it now wears a Crosby 4 inch 3 chime.
@davidng2336 What the heck. Ya, I noticed. There's only one video. Definitely a 4-inch crosby but funny since they just changed it from the buckeye to a baldwin. How strange, but I guess they miss those with a pitch.
I wish they'd use more Powell whistles at the Disney parks. Powell made my favorite 3 chime whistles ever. Some people hate them, but I think they have a very distinct and mellow sound.
That would be nice. If the 4 inch diameter powell came back. Which one should it go to?
I know some IH Transtars that sound low like the first pairing Much better sound then the 10$ store bought ones
I know some IH Transtars that sound low like the first pairing Much better sound then the 10$ store bought ones
Wow, Great job
Can you please inform me of what kind of whistle the Roy O. Disney has?
I'm honestly not sure myself. It has no markings, and its sound and look are so distinct. Without a doubt, based on sound and size, I can say it's a 5-inch diameter 3 chime whistle. Some are convinced it's an american steam product steam whistle, which are hard to find or a B&O 3 chime. That'd the reason I don't have one yet, want to be sure.
@@khriscamacho1212Thanks for taking the time to respond, and I wish you the best of luck trying to find his whistle!
@andrewcalcagno8272 Thank you. Once I find out exactly what it is, be sure I'll find it or at least put the info out.
@@khriscamacho1212Hi, so I found out that Roy now has a Crosby 6 inch 3 chime whistle.
@andrewcalcagno8272 czcams.com/video/vhc8ssC4XdU/video.htmlfeature=shared I don't think so, I noticed crosbys have a higher pitch even when blown at lower pressure. Roy's has a deeper pitch. Someone told me it may be a 5 inch diameter b & o 3 chime, Ashton 3 chime, or american 3 chime but never mentioned it since I can't find any videos of the last two to prove it. Rare unusual whistles, so there are no videos out there.

How much was that boiler?
$80, had to pay another $80 or so for it to be functional since it was missing parts.
@@khriscamacho1212amazing deal but if it's that cheap idk if it's safe. Have you performed a hydro test on it?
@@OldIronVideo yes, each time before use. Surprised too, seems it was never used and also clean it out after each use.
@@khriscamacho1212 that's good to hear
@Nkp757railfan was at an estate sale then listed on the market since the owner never got to use it, havnt seen it anymore since I would like a larger boiler and need more volume. Can't have boiler pressure dropping so quickly, looking for smaller whistles to avoid fast pressure drops.
A voice from the past revived! would to see Disney put this on an engine of the Walt Disney World Railroad!
Well, maybe some day. They did change the one on roy. Not it has a 4 inch diameter 3 chime crosby. The first whistle changed in a while, and before that, Rodgers 3 inch diameter 3 chime buckeye was changed for a 4 inch diameter 3 chime Lonergan. Who knows but I will say, so far the walt disney world railroad only used lunkenheimer whistle valves but not lunkenheimer whistles, which is weird because at disneyland it was mostly lunkenheimer whistles for long time but now started changing them up with different whistles. A lot is changing.
Here's another 3.5-inch diameter 3 chime lunkenheimer whistle in use, not mine. Sadly, they didn't want to try any of my whistles. They said it was too much work for them. czcams.com/video/UpjrOUJMrlo/video.html
Are you willing to sell this whistle it’s the same type as on the liberty bell river boat in Disney and I would love to have it for my steam car
I know. That's why I bought it. It is very hard to come by for its size and price. I'm sorry, but I'm not looking to sell it. I just got it and plan to not just display but use it whenever i get the chance. I'm attempting to collect all the whistles used the longest at all disney parks, I only have 4 more to go. Steam car?
The first horn played is the horn origin for the Tanker Truck’s horn in Toy Story.
I never noticed. I will watch it again.
That whistle sounds familiar... Wait... IT CAN'T BE!!
What??
@@TheDapTopEngine It’s Richard’s whistle
There are some nice whistles shown here. A 3 1/2 inch diameter is a nice size. I call then a large small whistle. I have all sizes up to 12 inch diameter, including a 3 1/2 inch diameter lunkenheimer chime, like this one. That size requires 1 inch piping. The one here is necked down to a much smaller pipe. With a 1 inch pipe at 150 psi they really sing.
I know. I wish I had a large steam boiler to use my whistles. Otherwise, it would likely be a 1 inch opening. Need a large steam boiler.
Do you have a video of yours?
I'm still looking for a 5-inch diameter 3 chime lunkenheimer. Have any extras?

Those two horns put together remind me of the horn on the Kenworth W900a in the show “Movin’ On”
Because they are the same horns. Technically, these are truck horns, but disney adapted them into their monorail when they developed the first ones. Grover goes back some years.
CK’s whistle? And where did u get that small Boiler???
Yes, 2nd one. Local marketplace.
I can see the grin on Uncle Walt's face as that whistle is a SINGING!
E.P Ripley with Bob Joles instead of Thurl Ravenscroft or Earl Boen.
Where did you get the Buckeye 3 chime whistle?
Social media market.
Somebody in the town I grew up in had 1 of these and they lived next to a 100+ year old train track that got decommissioned and turned into a walking/biking trail through town.. growing up all the older kids would tell the younger kids that it was a ghost train.
Nice. Well, steam locomotives still aren't around as much as they used to, including whistles. You can say they are ghost whistles. Especially the bigger they are, they have a deeper tone. Train from the past, a ghost from the past.
Check. See if this guy is still around if interested or see if any steam events with whistles are around. They may let blow it.
@@khriscamacho1212 naw it's gone, the whole town burnt down in 2018
