I'm guessing that you two aren't fans of cars? This line will never be re -opened, so my advice to you blokes would be,...Learn to drive!!

You don’t explain that you have to divert several times to rejoin the old track. You also don’t show the bridge at Abbey Barn Lane, which is very interesting and spooky

Ive riden this line about 1000 times and i have never known that the line used to go down to High Wycombe from Bourne end. However now you can just get the Bus number 37 from Bourne end to High Wycombe. I take this service sometimes just back and forth from Bourne end to Marlow.

thanks for the video, guys. the old hut you documented in the video burnt down, and today you would never know it existed. they did a fabulous breakfast in there. gone forever. i think the auction house is the old goods shed, the bricked out windows/doors are at platform level. i love looking at photos and video of this little gem of a station. thankyou.

You can see the tunnel at Loudwater if you walk along the golf course - no permission needed to film 😂 👍

@@neilfranklin5644 A mile or so of reinstated railway in Watford was trashed after the cost escalated to over £200 million. That puts reinstating this line at well over £1billion. No chance.

One thing I definitely know is that ballast trains are )were( loaded at Shap 'blue' quarry, and that is granite. Which is definitely NOT a porous rock.! the opposite in fact. It's VERY hard and solid. So I'm not sure what you picked up, but it's not what I'd have thought to be a good type of rock for this use.

I've seen this clinker like material in a lot of old railways. I don't think it came out of the firebox of a steam locomotive. Could it have been used for some other purpose?

One of the drivers of the Marlow Donkey Ended up in my platoon in the army ( amazing ) His name was Dave Treehurn does anyone Here Know him? Bourne end was a great place to live in the 50s and 60s It just shows the how useless the politician's were , closing down a wonderful transport system ( in some areas)
