I loved the infinite balcony! The ones that I have heard yapping about them are upset because they can't sunbathe.... I have the perfect built-in tan, so I don't care about sunbathing! 🤔

Does everyone in the room need to check in at the same time or can 1 person(the person with the app) do it first to secure the early check-in time and then add the other people in the room? Like spouse and kids?

we pretty much never use the buffet on cruises, not in a hurry we are on vacations and prefer being served and what I've seen finding a table at times looks impossible. I feel we would eat too much if we went to the buffet, portion size in the MDR suits us.

Gratuities! Is so annoying! I also wish they would give you an option to add the drink packages aa part of the cruise fare and not pay separately.

If you take a Caribbean cruise, leave your camouflage clothing at home. It is illegal to wear it on many of the islands. You can be arrested and / or restricted to the ship. If you don't have it with you, you can't make a mistake. (Yes, you can wear it on the ship.)

I was on the last Enchantment cruise before dry dock and was told they are updating the wiring for CCVT, air conditioning, painting and replace carpets throughout the entire ship.

Never trust the future cruise planners to know what is in the cabin. We booked Wonder of the Seas while on a cruise. We told the future cruise planner the cabin must have a sofa or love seat. We'll when we arrived for our seven night cruise, there was a chair in the cabin. We did not unpack. Went to guest services, and after several minutes and talking to the hotel manager, we were given a key to a different cabin to check out. This cabin was in a good spot and had a sofa. Thanks to guestservices.

How do I know if the previous guest tampered with the contents of the shared shower shampoo, conditioner, or body wash? Bulk liquids are a very bad idea. I am surprised that a cruise line is willing to risk their reputation on a bad news story to save a few dollars.

I never look at reviews for cruises. A horrible day at sea is still better than a great day on land!

You had great points on many topics. I agree that trying to sneak alcohol onboard is really silly. I don't drink enough alcohol on any lenth of cruise to rationalize buying a drink package. I was recently part of a blog where someone wanted to know how to skip paying any gratuities. As hard as most of these crew members work, that just seems so wrong.

I'm not a big fan of RC, but I do like the things you have discussed on this blog and a previous one. Your points are good no matter what cruise line one chooses.

0:43 i stayed in one of these. I thought when i booked it that it might be a weird concept but wanted to try it out. Its nice to have the extra space when you have 4 people in the room but any time you open the window it effects everyone in the room and it isnt very quiet so it will also wake everyone in the room.

Thank you for your tips and tricks on Royal Caribbean! The only one I would add is: Dont trust yourself and your normal vacation fatigue level. Cruising is a lot of vacay (walking, new food, different countries) crammed into one trip. When you disembark, you may be more fatigued than you expected. So let them take your bag the night before. Have coffee and breakfast before disembarkation. Take the shuttle. Hire the Porter. If you are driving to the port, park in the closest parking lot. Do everything you can to ease your transition from Cruise Life back to Real Life! 💚

I sneak booze onboard and it has nothing to do with the cost of the drink package. I actually buy the drink package but still sneak stuff onboard. I like to have a few drinks before dinner while sitting on my balcony. It sucks to have to go to a bar (which is usually on a different floor) multiple times within 2 hours and then go back to my room. If they would let people who have bought the drink package buy a bottle of alcohol onboard and take it back to their room I wouldn’t sneak stuff onboard. I just wanna relax and pregame in my on my balcony without making 20 trips to the bar then back to my room.

Key is sometimes discounted 50% and is absolutely worth it. Also they only ask you show up 15 mins early most of the time, I never saw 45 mins. Just wrapped up a 7 day on Symphony. For me, I need to get wifi on 2 phones, and when you get it discounted and consider the price of 2 internet packages already baked into it, all the rest is gravy. Though I admit I missed the exit breakfast usually we just wanna go home by then lol.

Infinite balcony isn't for us. Often, one of us is out on the balcony while the other may be taking a nap. We need the air on inside for the nap while the other of us is outside.

Don’t book a cruise solely based on a single port of call. There are many reasons that port call could be canceled - weather, dock strike, civil unrest - so you don’t want to be disappointed.

Many cruise reviews are pure garbage.

a lot of the beach excursions are also a waste. RCI has a beach day in bermuda for $120pp that includes transport to and from the beach and then a chair and umbrella. so a family of 4 is costing $480 to go to a beach. just take a taxi, the beaches are free

Deluxe beverage is awesome you have no worries about nothing. You get water, specialty coffe, sodas, cocktails, beers, wine and all types of alcohol

I actually like the connecting cabins on Royal Caribbean because the door is a large clear area where it is convenient to hang our storage rack (aka. "hanging shoe rack") and the magnets hold better because there is no layer over the metal. That also adds a layer of sound insulation, although I have spent about 20 years of my life living in a basement suite so neighbor sounds don't bother me.

My family and I just came back from a 7 night cruise on the Grandeur of the Seas and we had a great time. Impressed on how this older vessel is holding up. We didn't mind it was smaller than the others because everything is just closer. The wait staff, bartenders, and state room staff is just fantastic. The only the downside for us was the food. Coming from only cruising with Disney, the food on RC is mediocre at best. So bland in fact, we had to confirm with the waiters we didn't have any nutrition restrictions. The portion size were also very small, which is ok because you can order more, the food at Windjammer was even more disappointing, and at times gross (especially breakfast). The onboard entertainment was great, the Cool Band, and the reggea were awsome. The ports of call were great too, just be careful that some of the locals hussle hard, so do your homework beforehand.

5. Especially Galveston…there is really only one bridge on/off the island. If you fly in the same day as departure and there a wreck (or a squirrel) on the bridge you will watch the ship sail away

4. Reviews…I was living in China in 2018, went on Quantum out of Shanghai,for the first time and read reviews. The very first one I read said “stay off of this ship! It’s full of Chinese!”. Some Americans simply should never travel 😃. It was a fantastic cruise, I strongly recommend cruises like that from foreign ports.
