They do have cabin air filters....
These things are pos
Can't hear a damn thing. Volume up all the way. Not one word
There's a filter I promise.
Yes if you add one later not one in the one in video
That’s not the location for a cabin air filter
Saw on another video that GM stopped putting cabin air filters back in 2006 or 2007.
Chevy dealership are thieves, the robbed my sister for like 8-10 years.
The cabin filter is right in front of you. You need to retro fit it with a new screw on plate. For now the filter is hidden cuz it has to be cut out and put back
So how do you do it?
There is place to put a socket in it and turn it manually to close it
Make a video
If yall search on CZcams tons of videos come up on how to change it, they have a slot from factory you have to cut out the plastic and then you insert it.
That is messed up 😮
Thief’s
Yes some don’t have any at all
It's a dealer...not chevy. Alot of scamming going on w dealers!
Just ripping him off.
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO EVEN LOOSEN THE INTAKE MANIFOLD!!!! YOU CAN USE A 1/4” EXTENSION AND A SWIVEL AND EASILY REMOVE THAT BOLT WITHOUT TOUCHING THE INTAKE MANIFOLD!!!!
But what if it’s starting to strip?
Cause that’s the problem I’m having now
@@muladeonte Go get you the proper size socket, which I believe is an E8 (Has to be a short 1/4” drive with a swivel and a 6-8” extension. Go in from the side of the oil cooler adapter near the bottom, and you can hold the socket on by putting your fingers through the next hole in the intake manifold. I wish I were there to show you, but hopefully that explains it enough! Lmk if you need anything else…
Exactly work smarter not harder
@@tripleeathleticsit’s an e10 for sure
It's Chevy They've been doing this shit for.as long as I've been around.....I'm 63
It’s also not even covering the hole? How’d you fix it
Design flaw
Diesel ou petrol??
My 2013 like that too and there is NO filter behind the glove box like some of these guys are saying there is.
there is a filter behind the glovebox, a quick youtube search will show you.
This a joke right?
Just got this 2014 silverado... used ... no cabin air filter.... none... took the whole dash apart... nothing! RETROFIT???? I need a video for the retrofit.
There is a slot to but it out in the glove to put one it
Nope, there is NO filter behind the box... there's a place between the heater dampner and the a/c, but their Is NOTHING there! ... I found something about "retro fit filters"... GM cut corners
Ok!!!! FYI!!!! Gm was in bankruptcy and CUT corners for 2500 & 3500 series 2004- 2014 before they were caught NOT installing cabin air filter!!! WTF!!!!? It's all retrofit!!! EARLY 2014 and late 2014 are 2 different things!!!!!
1500 series got the "cabin air filter"!!!!!!!.... ... ... ... so WTF!?!?!?!?!!!!!🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬the 2500 and 3500 series don't get shit?!?!?!!??!!?!??!?!😡🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
Is this a b9 a4 issue?
Yes common a4 issue also issue with new 1.8 engine as well
this is common in the 2.0T for all audis and most VW's
I also have an 11 and no filter where it should be. You have to cut the slot out and place one in. It’s an after market thing.
You can cut the box and install it using the kit but that one DOES NOT have one or you'd see the screws that hold the cover on it.
It DOES have a cabin air filter. It’s behind the glove box. Have to remove glove box to access. It’s there though.
What year model is yours?
2016 he's right it does
Yep, I just changed mine about an hour ago.
They changed them starting on the 2014 models. The 2008-2013 doesn't have one
07-13 does not. There is aftermarket stuff to add one. But none from factory
sure it does
4 screws takes 2 minutes
If it had then yes
My 2009 has no filter.... I checked through the bottom and behind the glove compartment.... Nothing
It does have one
Yeah its annoying but thats how my GTR sounded like for years 😂 its an OG mechanical Supercar soo yeah
There's no cabin filter....they sell a retrofit kit that you install. Did that my self the other day. 60 bucks in parts. One.and half hours of my time. (Cleaned coil) and a six pack later.....done
Wtf… what using they have the. Tho
We should sue Chevy or GMC for not having that filter
All cars in the modern era has a cabin air filter. Either under the glove compartment, under or under the hood.
These don’t have one
There is a cabin filter it’s right under that cover you pulled they are just sealed from the factory and you have to cut them out then you get the cabin air filter kits for it that come with a new lid and filter it’s wack but look it up I just did one at my shop the other day
My girlfriend has a 2007 GMC sierra 1500 is the cabin filter located in the same area
@@fromstreettostraight not if it’s the older generation but if it’s the 2007.5 and up trucks yeah. If it looks like the truck in this video then yes
Yeah I have a 07.5 and their is no filter
Was this the way they did it on the lower models, such as a work truck model?
You're looking in the wrong spot. It's behind the glove box. Are you seriously an auto mechanic?
Looking behind the glove box
That’s the right spot as somebody that owns a truck like that most 1500 didn’t have the cutouts that year
Let me know where it is I have the same thing it's not in the glove box it's not underneath and I don't think you have to pull the cow up under the windshield wipers you know let me know please and Sue to them
i have a 2011 gmc 2500 sierra 6 litre with no cabin air filter???? with dead animal in there what to do? take whole dash out?????
I got 2011 chevy silverado 1500 no filter, i looked everywhere but no filter!!
It’s behind the glove box!
Noo it’s a sealed box with no filter they make a aftermarket part that requires some custom work if you want a filter… not worth it no filter is just fine
@@sir_tate1329but what if it don’t blow cold air tho
I have a 07 Tahoe. Similar built to this vehicle in the video to get access to the cabin air filter. I had to basically cut out the factory plastic seal. So technically I didn’t have an air filter. But my Tahoe was smelling horrible every time I turned on the a/c or even just having the car parked for a while. You have to go to your auto parts store to buy a cover once you cut out the seal. But the nice surprise is once I cut out the seal, and exposed where the filter is supposed to be, I had a whole bunch of junk and black goo from the inside. Truly disgusting but thankfully once’s cleaned up and replaced my vehicle smells 100% better.
@@nitrix3353 I don’t think adding a air filter will make your air cold you probably have a different issue, maybe needs more Freon of an actuator problem
Never mind I should have read other comments, thank you guys
When this occurs what are the symptoms the car is making. I’m just asking because I have an 2006 Audi Quottro S-Line A4 3.2 6 Speed and am in the middle of changing valve cover gaskets, coil packs & plugs, and oil & filter but seen this and has me wondering should I go further
If I’m correct, the 3.2 does not have a turbo.
I hope your job is only to put air in the tires
It's behind glove box and trim,2 screw on top 2 on bottom 😅😂😊🎉🎉🎉🎉
I remove the glove box its there but the airbag is so close I don't want to risk getting it
Nope, you're wrong
Its in the glove box
I’m doing diy today filters on my car and there is no cabin filter!First off can’t unlatch one side of door but i pried the other side enough to look and feel and it’s empty!I had it replaced one time
Some trucks GM is cheap no filter off assembly line cut-out space add filter.
Thank you for helping.
