Sounds ace buddy! Those 1090’s are good bikes. Are you taking about the E09? If so I think it’s a great tyre. As for the wet, if you mean on tarmac, I’d argue all 80/20 tyres suck on wet tarmac 😂 The E09 seems stable enough for me though.

@@OllieMoto thanks for the reply, I am looking at the new trail + Dakar which is supposed to be good in our muddy conditions... I'm planning on doing the ACT in Wales in August or September so getting organised before the bike arrives 😃.

The Enduro Trail +? That’s the new name for the E07 I believe. I’d call it (the E07) more of a 50/50 tyre, but I’ve heard the ACT isn’t always too gnarly so you should be ok. I used the E07 for my Road to Morocco series and it did great. As for the Dakar version, a lot of my riding circles just go standard because the Dakar is pretty difficult to get off a rim if you get a puncture, due to it being stiffer. Just food for thought. Enjoy the trip! 👍🏻

Yeah, maybe. If I’m honest I’m still not convinced. Maybe for bikes - moped and the like - but for cars… hmm 🤔 Just take a look at recent EV sales figures.

@@OllieMoto I mean yeah they aren't selling well. Look at the stats for EV bike sales in the UK it's shocking. In Tawain they have battery swap stations, takes 60 seconds to swap out 2 batteries. FortNine reckons it is going to go EV but with Hydrogen. I just don't see how ICE fuel is sustainable cost wise.

@@KrisVickers-wn6dd I think the only people who know are Shell and BP. They’ll have ‘the next thing’ locked away in a cupboard somewhere until their profit margins make it worthwhile to unlock said cupboard… 😉

It would depend on what I needed it for. If I lived in a city and needed a run around then yeah, they’re great, and I’d even have one as a track bike. Not for ADV though.

Thanks for the kind words! As I said in the video, I really enjoyed my time on them. The riding experience is pretty ace to be honest, but I do have reservations about their "real world application" for the type of riding I do i.e. big adventures. If I rode a lot closer to home most of the time I'd seriously consider one.

Yeah we both still do. They are temperamental things, but we both had done lots of mods to our so maybe some of their ‘temperament’ is our own doing 😂 I’d never sell mine though, it always puts a smile on my face.

@@OllieMoto He-e, I`ve not ridden the Sinnis but I know there is a "gap" between a 10-11hp bike and a 15hp

So I was told. I use the rear a lot off-road and didn’t have any dramas at all 🤷🏼‍♂️

Hey man, thanks for the kind words. My friends and I use a mix of all sorts. If you’re looking for a 50/50 tyre then I’m a big fan of the Mitas E07’s. As for more off-road tyres, a lot of people I know use stuff from Motoz. My 990 currently has an E09 on the rear, and Pirelli MT21 on the front. What I would say is that opinions on tyres are wide and varied. Just grab a set that has the right amount of knobbles for what you want and give them a go. Yes, 50/50 tyres suck in the mud. Yes, 80/20 will suck on wet tarmac. Ignore all the negative opinions and go for it! 👊🏻

I’ve not got any routes saved I’m afraid. If you take a look at the UK TET, some of it goes in and around Salisbury. Once you’re at the Plain it’s pretty easy to see where a load of the routes go and just follow them until you get bored. Hope that helps! 😁

I’m not even sure if that’s where we hired ours from - is it the same place? - but the bikes we used had also had a hard life.
