"Lisa Grace Adventures" includes our family of three Type 1 Diabetics sharing our life's journey living in sunny Florida. As we navigate the challenges of living with 1 diabetes, our diabetes alert service dog plays a crucial role in ensuring our safety. Viewers are not only treated to our escapades at Disneyworld but also get an intimate look at our unique household members: a curious sphynx cat *Lord Linus*, four mesmerizing ball pythons, Cooper, the super sniffing service dog, Greta the *old lady* collie mix, a Mama cat and her Baby cat we fostered and adopted. The channel combines travel, health awareness, and a love for exotic pets. Also we delve into the world of wigs, as Lisa has Alopecia.

First *LIVE ALERT* during public access training!!! *Diabetes Alert Service Dog #dogs #dog #puppy
This is Elizaveta's 19 week training PUPdate!~
She is our 19 week old Golden Retriever puppy training to be a Diabetes Alert Service Dog. Her older brother Cooper has been our Diabetes Alert Service Dog for 8 years and is retiring soon ( he is 9) Cooper was trained by River's Edge Diabetes Alert Service Dogs in College Station, Texas. (He was a started diabetes alert dog meaning we had to finish his training bridging samples to live alerts)
We decided this time to self-train and found Sidekick Retrievers in Orange, Florida. Both Elizaveta's parents are working service dogs and out of last two litters of pups a total of 9 have been or will be trained to be service dogs (with no washouts yet). Ellie had Vollhard temperament testing done at 49 days old. We are hopeful she will be successful, but this is a very long journey and only time will tell.
Ellie 'trains' 3 sessions daily and goes on one outing 4-5x weekly for socialization & Public Access. She is doing well with commands. Ellie does two 5 minute training sessions daily with low blood sugar samples.
We have three type 1 diabetics in our house, myself and two adult kids. Elizaveta will be my diabetes alert dog, but will also alert both kids that are type 1 as well. Cooper has been alerting high and low BG for all three of us for 8 years. He has been an incredible asset, and I can't imagine life without him.
I have hypoglycemia unawareness, this means I do not feel 'low' blood sugar symptoms until I am under 35, this is dangerously low. Cooper beats my Dexcom CGMS 100% of the time. Dexcom sits in the interstitial fluid, so is always 15 minutes behind. For me, this can be dangerous without another tool in the toolbox (Cooper) to help alert me as soon as possible when I am crashing.
Thanks for watching!!

She's getting it!!
That is soooooooooooo exciting!!!! Lisa...WOW!!!...fabulous xxxxxxx Elizaveta....you did fabulous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you are getting soooo big!!!
She is a little MOOSE lol..... she is soooo much further than I anticipated at 19 weeks old!~
Ellie is just saying, gimme those treats. I loves you mom and I loves the treats.
@@user-sn9rd8hb6r She went NUTS..... like NUts NUts 🤣🤣🤣🤣 She alerted Grace last night (was also correct) at home and also went NUTS....
She's a good, nah great girl. Go Ellie, hoping you learn a less spastic alert!
More treats please , mom
I didn’t know that Hobby lobby is pet friendly and that made me so happy😂😂I asked when I went and they said they are and it’s the perfect training place 😅
YES I found it online when searching great places that are also dog friendly because Elizaveta is by no means ready for like walt disney world, resorts etc yet!~ They were very nice when we were there.... It seems like a medium distraction place for our pup..... which is great. good place to get some progress!~
You got it! ❤ I’m a trainer and just came across your channel and subscribed and everything that you mentioned is part of that age and timeframe of the pup being there. Consistency is key which you were doing so as long as you stick to it don’t worry about off days, it’s all part of it ❤ I am training my own dog and actually restarting since the original dog I trained is not going to work for me and I have 2 to 3 days where I focus on training otherwise we do 10 minutes here and there and I get just as good of results. I used to also worry about not getting enough training time, but after training this husky cross for the last two years I take time off when needed . I keep the structure the same and expectations but when they are young puppies like this, I tend to not worry too much on a time frame. Definitely here as well for any questions, I know the struggles but it’s worth it, as you know 🧡
Doggy U is a great channel for service work
So adorable
She is LOL!
love!
THANK YOU for your comment!~
How wonderful these dogs are. They give so much to the people who need them. Thank you for the wonderful work you do. ❤

Pretty amazing little squirt 🥰
You both are doing amazing, like mother like doggy daughter
Such a smart girl. Go Elli
😻 She is smarter than me
Curious if you have any input on this. Say your in the back yard and feel an event so you push the chest button. But the phone is inside the home charging. If i dont go inside to make a selection on the phone screen....does the event still get recorded?
shoot I am actually not sure about that, I kept it with me, or close to me at all times when wearing.... sorry I don't have an answer 😶
big puppy now n very cute is cooper showin her the ropes ?
Hi to YOU!!!!!!!!!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰 Well.... I can only take both out when I have someone else to be Coopers Handler... so when hubby gets home in a few days, he will be in tow again to show her the ropes more!~ now that she is older. They did go several places together in the first 3 weeks we had her. She is now 17 weeks.... and the last week I have pulled back on public places (dog friendly) because having a bit of an issue with distractions on walks at home. How are you?! and your critter?

Awe she is so big. Wow.
told you 🤣
Just beautiful, she’s going to be great 🕊
Thank you, I sure hope so!!!🥰
This is not meant in a rude way but are you training him for you or a program?
She is being trained for myself. I have a 9 year old diabetes alert dog who is retiring... He was professionally trained (started diabetes alert service dog by rivers edge in college station, Texas). I finished Coopers training 8 years ago (bridging to live alerts) and this is the route that worked best for us this time. Cooper alerts to all three of us type 1 in my house (myself and 2 now adult kids) he was my son's Diabetes alert service dog for the last 8 years.... and now is mostly retired...at home but still alerts as he was trained. I have done all of Coopers ongoing training last 8 years since we have had him. I don't take your question rude at all. thanks~!
@@LisaGraceAdventures that’s so cool!
@@CanineCommanders57 I was just watching your videos!~ How is your training going? Your videos are great!~
@@LisaGraceAdventures she’s doing great! She should be fully trained by June ish next year when she’s almost 3 (she started her service dog training a year ago) and I’ll be bringing her to school next school year
@@CanineCommanders57 That is wonderful!!! Best of luck to you with school.... Our Cooper (now 9) went to college with my son Riley..... he was known all over the campus lol and gave us piece of mind that he had Cooper watching for any crazy low blood sugars besides his technology!
Thank you for the look into some of the work that goes into training a service dog
YOU are so very welcome! You just made my day.... It is such hard work.... and to start seeing some major changes in Elizaveta's training has made it all worth it!~ 🤪
Snek
YES lol 🐍
Linus lookin Lordly. What handsome man
I love that Cat so much 🥰🤣
The Elloegator sees her prey and attacks. Weird is definitely what it's good to be, as Yoda would say.
she now loves to lay under her mat 🤣
She is adorable . Hey mom, more treats, please
🥰🤣 she loves her food for sure
One gorgeous Borg.

A thousand thumb's up! I received my Bost Sci Body Guardian Mini Plus strip box over a month ago and did not want to use it. I didn't even open the box because I didn't want to wear EKG leads for 30 days as Rx by my Card. However, I have a hx of AFib, idiopathic, x 3 times in my lifetime, and the first being near fatal when I was a medical student near you. I had a recent AFib again and here I am. I finally opened the box today, called the toll free number, and customer service rep was not very helpful. I've never seen such a device in a holter monitor. I was given 4 strips, and I kept placing the strip too low - I'm a bodybuilder, best chest, did not align with the diagram. I kept getting the notification: "poor skin contact" for the past 5 hours, and it was stressing me. Showered (again), this time shaved my chest, looked up on the internet the exact placement of the strip, right below the jugular notch but my chest is pretty thick and clavicle isn't noticeable. I applied the 3rd strip, and then watched your video. I wish I had watched it before hand though obviously your placement is different given the obvious. Glad to know another clinician is going through this. Ugh. Just wanted to thank you, give you positive feedback and I may give you an update post 30 days. Since I'm physique conscious I didn't want the strip to show above my tank top in the gym - but oh well. LOL Hope your situation has improved. Thank you Lisa! - Bill
First off I hope your monitor wearing is going well!!~ secondly thank you so very much for your comment and sharing some of your story!~ I did get the poor skin contact midway through mine and had to change it at that time, so frusterating. My biggest complaint was the battery was faulty on mine and it only recorded approx 24 hours, then nothing for 3 days...I had to ship back and they shipped me a new one... once all the data was in they realized the faulty one was not recording appropriately. Unfortunately those were my most symptomatic days... but what can you do lol.... I hope they figure out what is going on with you.... after your data is in. as far as the gym... LOL I think because I am so used to multiple things stuck on me (insulin pump and CGMS) I didn't care LOL at all.... hahahaha at times it actually started a conversation.... Let me know your update for sure!
You both are doing such a great job. How did you learn how to train a puppy for this?
Thank you!~ We are using Libby Rockaway's puppy steps and also train your diabetes alert dog.... also been watching robert cabral (members section) and using My service dog & me program.... really a variety of education/methods... thanks for asking!
