It was really good. I stood in the same place for both nights of Blur at Wembley and felt the same way. Just stand right between the two masts nearest to the stage: people don't crowd each other but the atmosphere is good and it starts to really bounce a few songs in (especially when Thunderstruck came on!). The only downside is that you are quite far from the stage so don't expect a great view but then for me it's about the sound, the atmosphere, the people and you can still see everything on the screens anyway. I did debate standing to one of the sides where you can get much closer to the stage but I prefer to be in the centre of the pitch. Hope you have a great time!

@@4orty8ight Thanks for the info, we’re the same as in torn between getting closer to the side or centre and further away, we’ll probably just see what happens when we get in but we’ll be in the Que early so hopefully we’ll have our pick of positions.

I imagine they'll make quite a lot although they do seem to have a big team which they will be supported plus all of the equipment and props. I remember seeing them for the first time back in 2000 and it was just the three band members, no real stage props or anything and an additional guitar player to help out on the later songs off Warning. For me, their older material is the best so it was great they played Dookie in full but I would have liked more off Insomniac, Kerplunk and Nimrod. Maybe next time!

Well spotted! It's a song I learnt to play (very badly I'd add!) quite a few years ago and I thought something seemed different. The dropped step probably helps the crowd to sing along. 🤟

@@4orty8ight the studio record is in standard tuning and in g. i think they also played it live in standard tuning until a few shows ago. now they have a flat tuning, so the instruments are a half step down. but this is just for the vocals, so its easier to sing for billie. most of the bands playing live in a half step down tuning. they crowd would probably not recognize if its a half step down or not 😅

I realized that they have changed the key, I prefer in standard tuning. Because of this, the harmonica sounded out of tune.

I got there early to the Greek (£12 for three pieces of halloumi and some salad that's practically impossible to eat with your hands!). The pizza queue was the real killer: you get to the front only to realise you have to wait even longer in their weird initial based queueing system🤷‍♂️. I completely missed the second band but heard them: they did a very nice cover of "Where is my mind?" by the Pixies. 👌

I went to Leeds last year thinking it would be their last time in the UK (after Hatfield two days later) but they did come back again so you never know. They also said at Leeds that they might play Dublin and they haven't been there yet so they might still do that and throw in a few UK shows too. 🤞

Both nights were great. I was originally just going to the first night due to the setlist but ended up going to night two. I'm glad I did as the live version of The Decline was pretty epic!
