Who doesn't like to hangout? Sea to Summit has created the Telos TR 2 - 2 person tent that not only is super light and fast to set up but has another function all together. You can utilize the fly and a set of custom poles to make a separate shelter for sun, rain or wind. Could be used for hanging out at a festival when you want to keep cool or dry. Could be used for hanging out on the beach. I think you get it...

I was gifted one of these things. Learned to hate it in short order. First tried filling it up to use it in the house. No luck getting enough air in it because with furniture in a normal sized room there just isn't enough space to move around to collect air. Ended up using a hair dryer to blow air in it. Then tried sleeping on it. No go. It wasn't comfortable position for sleeping, maybe just lounging. And I couldn't change my position. I was locked in place and it was hard to get out. Weird. Then I tried filling it with air outside. It was just too much physical effort to make it worth my while. Maybe it was designed for twenty somethings that have nothing better to do. Definitely a two thumbs down vote from me. I would never pay money for another useless product made out of petroleum and is not biodegradable.

I didn't find this review until 2023. I have owned a REI Kingdom tent for about 5 years. It is a really great tent. I have had it in the wind, the rain and in the sun. It is still going strong. The poles have never failed me. It hasn't leaked in the rain. I have no tears in the fabric. I do try to take care of it though. It really doesn't take long to set up but it is definitely not a backpacking tent. But if you are camping for a few days or a couple of weeks, it is roomy. There is room for a cot, a small table and a chair inside with room to spare for your gear. I like to use the rainfly even if it is not going to rain. The vestibule in the rainfly has room for a stool to sit on while taking off your boots before entering the tent. Plus, if you want privacy, 5 gallon bucket and luggable loo toilet seat in the vestibule keeps you from having to get dressed to walk to the woods to do your business at night. I don't have the garage option. If I had that and with no rain in the forecast, I could forego the rainfly and see the stars through the roof of the tent. I will have to look at that option.

I just bought this tent and the flipping the fly structure inside out is not mentioned anywhere on the packaging at all so I wouldn't recommend bending poles like that. The set up process for setting up hangout mode is printed on the inner tents stuff sack and isn't actually that difficult if you practice it once or twice.

How do you define Expedition Shelter? I think this is the PERFECT Expedition Shelter: to me that you have the best thing I've ever seen in my life for all four seasons in review how to summer or the coldest winter. I invented a subsurface Rocket Stove Earthen Thermal Mass Heating System and I was planning to Showcase it in an Ice Fishing Shelter and my favorite was the Otter Vortex Pro Resort. One reason because it was hexagonal closest to round to Sheer high winds, they have a skirt for putting a rocks dirt sandbags ice snow on to keep the air out, it has a full door which I think shift pod will go to possibly anyway, nope, just remember to have one where you open up the whole side so I just remember Christian saying that can wheel two gurneys in at once. So forget my full door thing yeah just put the vestibule on! All the other thing I liked about the otter is it was about a hundred square feet which I think is like perfect a good size shelter plenty of room but also small enough to heat with my subsurface heating system. I think I can heat... Actually, I was thinking about my smallest possible model proof of concept heating system I have all the parts for that right now and I'm in the process of setting it up under a small ice fishing shelter. But, I KNOW that's big enough to heat even a large hundred foot square foot tent so if I upscale it made it up to where it'll heat up 50 ft diameter shelter - Yurt, Tipi, Geodesic Dome, etc, I could do that easily!!!

  • @howtogetoutofbabylon8978

I love the fact that it's already been tested in so many great locations and conditions; King of the Hammers and Burning Man and mountain climbing and emergency rescues situations and disaster relief that's exactly what I've been looking for for so many years for 20 years now the perfect Four Season tent shelter for emergency situations and my gosh they've designed and built exactly what I wanted, what I had envisioned / designed in my head!! Carbon graphite struts and hubs, YKK zippers etc top quality materials everything space blanket materials for reflecting Heat and cold; "Space Age Tent Made With Space Age Materials for Space Age Conditions!!!" I just found the shift pod a week ago because I was looking for the absolute BEST Four Season shelter because I want to combine it with my invention, a Rocket Stove (in the-ground) Earthen Thermal Mass Heating System! It will heat a 100 +/- shelter easily, AND It will help keep it cool in summer also because Earth temps are always lower than ambient temperature... Tested in multiple locations king of hammers burning Man a lot of emergency situations they've improving intestine that's what I want to work with. They used YKK zippers and carbon graphite hubs and struts I was so impressed with her system just blown away like I had envisioned, EXACTLY what I envisioned An Ice Fishing Shelter Hub on steroids, that will be good for all ALL seasons Cold and hot weather both and high winds which I think we're going to be having to deal with more and more they're like a perfect emergency shelter and that's what I've been looking for for 20 years actually since I had a picture burned into my mind about 40 years ago of a bunch of tents across a pasture and I KNEW that they were refugees and if I didn't do something to help them they would die and then in the year 2000, 20 years later I had a powerful, -like real-time real-life Technicolor -like-I-was-there, vision of an underground house and a homeless Family. That shook up my world, charged me up and set me on a course that's included a website, a book, and a CZcams channel ALL with the same name; How To Get Out Of Babylon and ALL trying to figure out how to help homeless people in horrible and emergency situations. I think this is what I've come to other than building houses underground we need to have some shelter that will absolutely stand up to high winds and snow and ice and extreme temperatures; we will see heat and cold and this is like the most PERFECT thing I've ever found; "Space Age Tent Made With Space Age Materials for Space Age Conditions!!!"
