My "Earned Value" ranking system would: 1) rank every team 1-134 every week (week 0 is a shot in the dark, but it's a quickly abandoned starting point; see rule 2) 2) disregard previous weekly rankings in favor of current rankings (FSU was #10, now they're unranked; Ga Tech's win over #10 FSU is now valued as a win over an unranked team) 3) give extra value for winning on the road 4) establish a point system for wins based on current ranking (if team #35 defeats team #25, that win yields X pts (maybe 134 pts for defeating #1, 1 pt for defeating team 134), if they defeat team #60, it yields Y pts; accommodate for home/road/neutral based on rule 3) 5) (optional) weigh more recent results more heavily than early season results

UConn big brand with big markets. And ultimately football will only be coming on after the investments and FB will be just as competitive as it was when it was in its last power conference for football, which ended Fiesta Bowl in 2011. BY knows a little bit about brand value and how to increase the overall conference strength. He’s proven that time and time again.

As a WVU fan, I'm all for UConn. They showed they can compete in the Big East in football, and their basketball is worth it. Not to mention, I'd love another East Coast team!

The B1G does care about education. Also football isn't as important as academics to the B1G. I do think UConn to the Big 12 is a fine idea but why is it OK to see UConn who is barely able to play football join the Big 12 but you can't see why the SEC and B1G want UNC.
UNC is a bb add. Big 12 needs to ad bb. The big 2 don’t. The big 2 and their media partners want fb. The money is so big in the big 2 it is cost prohibitive to add a bb school.

Texas Used Red Rag Tampon Tech will never be a national powerhouse or brand in football as they have not won an outright conference championship since 1950s in the BIAA. All that jibber jabber about TexasTamponTech recruiting and NIL the last few years have been bunk and bull corn. Now Baylor or TCU or Houston or KSt, Utah, Arizona, UCF, Arizona St, WVU and even Cincinnati could become powerhouse brokers but agree long way away from that happening.

Congratulations for your TCU win over Stanford. My Mountaineers got destroyed by Penn State completely embarrassing, year six of Coach Brown is not working now very well. I think the rest of the Big 12 played high school football team so I'm not going to congratulate them. Then they say why don't the SEC or Big Ten add us, well you don't play nobody that's why.

Bro, Excellent take from a Cincy fan. The sooner that folks realize that the BIGXII will never be the big10 or sec in football. The sooner they will realize that if we can hang OUR hats on basketball for $$$ . Then if we can get a one of the football teams from the BIGXII to run it up in them in football in a new playoff scenario. That is the only way the BIGXII can stay with in an arms grasp in football.
For some of the teams in the Big 12 it's hard to accept that we will never be on equal levels with the SEC or big ten but it's true we'll never be on that level. I would bet a $1,000 on Georgia to beat any team in the Big 12 and that includes Utah Arizona Kansas and Oklahoma State. I don't even think they get a field goal.
Finally... The BIG12 should be trying to be the best Tier 2. An amicable Tier 2 realignment after the dust settles would be wise.
Totally off base with the rant. Fox just signed the BigEast to their basketball deal. Good luck trying to get Fox to approve the Big12 taking the top school out of the Big East right now. SMH. If Fox isn’t willing to pay any additional money to add UConn, good luck getting the Big12 presidents to vote to add and take less of a payout per member to add them.
ESPN will pay. Plus negotiations are on going with Fox about content they want from Big 12. Yormark has leverage
@@knumbskullnews3460 the reports I saw said Fox isn’t going to let UConn leave the Big East and leave them holding a 6 year contract without the best brand in the Big East. I also saw that Yomark doesn’t have enough votes from the Big12 Presidents because Fox isn’t going to pay for the addition. Some of those Big12 presidents are taking a hard line on not taking any cut to their current payout. It won’t happen anytime soon is what I’ve been hearing on other podcasts.
May be off, but I thought FOX already gets more BIG12 basketball while ESPN gets more football. If true, not sure how that's captured in the existing deal.

The Big 12 should take UConn because Connecticut is in the Tri-State area (NY, CT, NJ). Having access to New York City vis Connecticut would be a step up for the Big 12. The Big 10 has Rutgers in New Jersey. Yormark has to make that move.

I am all for Yarmork doing what he has to do to keep your lower tiered programs off the Pole. 1st he did what ESPN told him to do and killed the PAC like ESPN told him. Now he has to save the PAC2, buy a house next to ESPN Head Offices and grab Gonzaga so that there can ALWAYS be a Late Night Broadcast Window for Football and Basketball from the Post-Devastation Big 12. These are good moves for a 3rd Rate League like the Big 12 after all of the 1st Rate and 2nd Rate Brands and Markets are stripped away by ESPN/FOX and the ACC/SEC/B1G in a couple years. You have to trust in Yarmork. He knows who to FOLLOW to the Best Possible Future for the Big 12 sponsored by Flying J and Carl's Jr.
Yarmork knows the SAME FACTS I DO. He knows he needs 4 schools. 3 that play Football and 1 that doesn't. He knows Big 12 is going to lose at least 3 current schools. So he has to replace 3 and in Basketball have an odd number of teams doe not hurt. He ALSO KNOWS he could lose up to 9 current schools. So he has to have 3 that play Football and 1 that plays Basketball to meet the scheduling obligations he has for the Networks. If he loses 9. That leaves 7. +3 makes 10. 10 teams provides a 9-game schedule. 7 teams +4 makes 11. 11 teams that play each other TWICE provides a 20-game schedule. See how that works? He could also lose 5 6 or 7 schools. But getting 3 Football schools and a 4th for Basketball doesn't hurt. It is a good start at least. And WHO is the Yarmork going after? UConn, Oregon St, Washington St and Gonzaga, Why those 4? 3 for Football + 1 for Basketball (but that wasn't the point of the question). Seriously. Why those 4? Because Yarmork KNOWS that is the BEST HE CAN DO.

From someone who has followed and been a fan of the Big 8/swc/Big 12 for more years than I hate to admit, UConn as a member would only push me away from supporting the conference as a whole. And I'll spend my Friday nights attending HS games, not watching Big 12 games on the boob tube.

You have my favorite channel. From a UConn alumni thanks for the support. UConn women have 11 championships since 1995, the men have 6. 1999, 2004, 2011, 2014, 2023, 2024. The football team upgraded and went on in a few years to share the Big East title in 2007 and 2011. We made it to a Fiesta bowl before the old Big East fell apart. We played Michigan at home and almost won. They added thousands of temporary seatsfor that game. The fans will come back. We have beat several current Big 12 teams in the past. Beating Notre Dame at Notre Dame was fun. The football practice facilities are some of the best in the country. UConn made a huge increase in NIL for football and plans another big increase next year. UConn is committed to football. I think we will be back on track this year. The Big East falling apart and a few bad coaching hires really hurt. We have faith in Jim Mora.
There is no way UNC and Virginia end up in the Big 12. They will be either B1G or SEC.

@@knumbskullnews3460 You clearly don’t understand the B1G and SEC. B1G wants in the Southeastern part of the country. They also care IMMENSELY about academics. The reason FSU and Louisville for that matter will not get in is bc they aren’t AAU. SEC already has Univ of Florida. Neither of the power 2 have a NC school. VA also fits the academics of the B1G and would be in a market we don’t have. They also add great basketball tradition, alumni bases and eyeballs. If B1G goes to Florida it will be for Miami.
UNC, UVA & Miami are more likely to the BIG 10.

The BIG12 would also likely be a downgrade in academic association and overall sports.
