good pics of mt aryat
84-86 oldest daughter born off base, my son was born on base. I got married there. This December will be 40 yrs with the same woman. She’s been back 3 times. I haven’t yet.
Excellent video!! Thank you so much for sharing. Would be nice if the base returned to it's former glory, seems like such a nice place for the families as well.
My dad was stationed at Clark Field as a B-17 crewman when it fell to the Japanese in mid 1942. He didn't tell me much about those times other than they were told to fight on the ground as long as possible so the last of the aircraft could take off evacuating women and children that were streaming in from all over the islands. He was a career Air Force member from 1939-1961. He flew there often after WWII as a Flight Engineer/Navigator on many of the bombers during his years of service.
I in the Navy. I used to fly from Anderson AFB Guam to Clark and ride the bus to Subic Bay to get on ships.
Wow ang sarap ng blikan nkaraan ng clark hnd kuman sya gaanong tinatnan dito kse kmi non nkatira sa ilalim ng akasya sa balibago ung tinatawag na bgong daan 😮
I was there in 1978
great memories was there 84 to 89
it didn't look like that when I was there in 64 and 65. they really spruced the place up. I had a good time there , was with the 1961st comm group, the barracks were open bay right next to Lilly Hill
In astro park we fly BMX hehe....in duty-free I can't buy nothing first no money and no passport. Now I guess I can go all bases. And buy airplane? Do I have right now ?
Good vid, pity about the annoying music.
I was stationed at Clark, AB from April 1982 - October 1983. 3rd CRS. The BEST assignment a single Airman could ever get. If you have never been there, I assure you that all those rumors are true.
i can confirm this being stationed there 1985-87 as part of 374th Aerial Port Squadron
Great memories

Nice one po lods
I remember COPE thunder exercises the Clark field was a1.
That was my first base and I loved it there. I was there for 4 years from 1985 to 1989.
We were stationed there around that time. Do you happen to know Staff Sergent Stephen Craine?
My Dad was stationed there in 1973 to 1974. The school buses didn't have windows back then. Just wood covers you could raise when it rained. I remember seeing steam rising from Pinatubo. My brother and I could always be found at the hobby shop building model airplanes and flying them across the street. Mr Sanchez that ran that part of the hobby shop was a Bataan Death March survivor. We had so much respect for him. I was 12 when we moved there and 14 when we left. We were in Okinawa for 2 years before that so I grew up being a jungle rat.
My Dad was stationed at Clark in the middle 50's and I was raised in the Philippines. BUT, this was his second posting, he was first stationed at Clark in the summer of 1941. After fighting on Bataan, he was interned at Camp O'Donnell, Cabanatuan, Bilibid prison, and lastly as slave labor in the coal mines of Omine Machi, Japan. When he was offered the chance to be stationed once again at Clark he jumped at the chance. He used to go bat hunting with the Negritos because he had occasion to fight with them during the war. I have a lot of wonderful memories of Clark and the Philippines. Sadly, you can never go back.
Wow great Memories! I went to school at Grissom and later at Wagner . My brother was born at that hospital. Other vids suggest the hospital is haunted now that it’s been abandoned. 1985-1989 .
They are in the middle renovating it and turning it into a museum. I was born there in '78 and we returned in 83-88. I also went to Grissom. Looks like we were there at the same time. I still have my 4th grade year book from 1988. Do you remember then burying a time capsule in 1987?
I went to Wagner around that time. I miss that place. Such great memories.
@@McPh1741 I don’t remember the time capsule, but I do remember watching the challenger accident at school , my one class room was taught by the “OK team” ms Olsen and ms keiffer. (in hindsight they were clearly a couple and that was wild for the time and profession. They were awesome.) Many years later my parents confessed that my other teacher Ms. Tekada was nuttier than a squirrel turd, it wasn’t my imagination. The most vivid memory is people jumping the tall wall for brazen daylight robberies and escaping with makeshift bamboo ladders. Where have the decades gone.
@@65turbocoupe You were there from 85-89? How old were you? I was there from 83-88 from ages 5-10 years old. Ms. Keiffer sounds familiar. I remember the Viggy math busters certificates and Field Day. I ad Mrs. Finch (or Hinch) for 4th grade, Mr. Thomas for 3rd and Mrs. Leslie for 1st. I can't remember my 2nd grade teacher.
What would they say if the Coconut Grove Airmen's Club were open today with bar girls dancing in bikinis for American military while you're getting lunch...and quite possibly one beer? Their woke heads would explode!
Lol, was there from 86 to 91. Had many lunches at the Coconut Grove watching the girls dance and never more than one or two San Miguel’s with it.
1986-1991, 3rd SPS, brings back memories! Miss that place..
did you know Robert Seitter?
@mrjn341097 name sounds familiar, did not work with him, though. I believe there were like 2000 of us. Take care!
TSgt Tullo (Ret) Civil Engineer Electric Shop/SMART Team 1975-1982
I forgot about men wear hot pants shorts. Lol!
My dad worked in the base hospital. I used to go there all the time.
I was there in 1973 after Tachikawa Japan. I worked in the drug ward in the back of the hospital. I remember them showing movies outside at the high school football field. It was so much fun. Great duty, except very hot humid weather. There is another video call Clark AB 30 years later where you can see how the Filipinos turn the base into a slum.
slum what you talking about...come visit clark today...
My brother and I were born at Tachikawa Hospital, 1968 and 1969, respectively. My dad was a Weather Forecaster/Observer. We came to The Phillipines in 1975-1976. We first lived on Suzanna Street, then moved to these apartments by a mountain. Not sure if it was Mt. Pinatubo.
