Nice, but this one would really need a pick. Not because of the tone, but because Benton plays not 8ths but 16ths on the tremolo riffs most of the time.
Oh yeah definitely but I have never used a pick so fingers only for me. Also would be really hard to get a great take of a cover of 200 bpm 16th notes for essentially 3 minutes straight 😁 maybe one day!
I've liked Amon Amarth for years but didn't realize what a simple song this was. I guess I never payed attention and certainly didn't try to play it myself. Good job as always! LOVE your setup! Beautiful 5 string Spector (Alex Webster sig? I know you're a big fan and he likes to play similar gear with the dark glass). I've seen number of guys play with dark glass and it makes a difference. Spector basses have a nice growl, not that I could afford to own one at the moment!
Thank you! Yup their bassist pretty much is always playing root notes, doesn't get fancy or anything with the bass lines on their songs. Simple but effective
I bought some Cannibal Corpse discs years ago for shock value, since I was always a metal guy and was progressing into death metal. Never liked Cannibal Corpse. Didn't like the subject matter or the lyrics and the "vocals" were totally and literally monotonous. "Mono-tone-ous." I prefer Barnes to Fischer, which isn't saying much.... I've seen interviews with George "Corpsegrinder" Fischer, and he seems like a genuinely nice guy, a guy you'd want to have a beer with! If I could subtract the "vocals," I would really enjoy CC! Great musicianship! As for Alex Webster, he's fast as hell when he needs to be, but at the heart of it all, he is a solid bass player! I love his three-finger technique. Alex never forgets that he plays a rhythm instrument, but he does a great job of putting it forward when he can or where it's appropriate. Good job young man! I enjoyed this cover and look forward to more of the same!
Appreciate the kind words! Check out CC's instrumentals, they have 3 - Relentless Beating, From Skin to Liquid and Infinite Misery if you like CC without vocals! My favorite band personally but totally understand about the vocals. Alex Webster also has 2 100% instrumental bands - Blotted Science and Conquering Dystopia. DEFINITELY check those out if you like CC style music with no vocals!

Ah i just straight up change the tuning. luckily my bass doesn't really have issues when I do that, but I don't do it more than maybe once a week

Haha thank you!! Just alottttt of practice i play maybe 1-2 hours a day pretty much every day. I never really played scales when I started I just learned songs I wanted to learn and you kind of just learn over time. Plenty of videos on CZcams to learn tabs or music theory. If you wanna play metal I HIGHLY recommend Alex Webster's book "extreme metal bass", has alot of lessons on there that help you play extreme metal. Songsterr has alot of free tabs and I'm pretty sure that's free. Learn some easy songs like black sabbath stuff or slam metal those are usually super easy as well

You can try tuning by using the octave, just fret the 12th fret on the B string and tune it to G an octave higher. Won't be perfect but should do the job and get fairly close to the low G pitch

I know I may have asked you before but what’s the setup process for recording and uploading it to CZcams me and my uncle we’re gonna do a duet typpa thing but I don’t know how I would do it through an interface he just records through his phone and mic he plays guitar would bass sound alright through a mic plugged into my phone or should I just use an interface and how would I uploaded it to tik tok with his videos thanks man
Hmmm not sure it would sound right, you could probably just record both guitar and bass on the interface and overlap over each other. I dont use Tiktok so I'm not really sure how that works sadly
