Yeah was on track for a much bettwr time for sure! I run with all the nannies on since I'm still new to this stuff. It's usually doesn't interfere but the ESC stepped in that time

@@MARCO-rq2ph yeah 664 at the wheels. Ported stock heads, milled for a 12.1:1 compression ratio, big cam, well setup valvetrain, ported MSD intake modified to fit a 112mm throttlebody, and 1-7/8" headers. Untouched 47k mile bottom end. Tuning and seat time are the big parts in making these things quick once you have all the hardware

@@TRSCobra i did the mistake of starting w the headers. Still doesn't sound good but much louder. Kline Inco on the way, i cannot stand the OEM muffler tone and rasp

I went back the next year with full bolt ons and a retune and ran 163.6mph, which was 10mph faster than this setup.

@@2kflashgod After that 163mph setup (ran a 10.30@135 best 1/4) I did better heads, bigger cam, valvetrain upgrades, and a highly modified MSD intake and ran a 9.58@145mph but never made it out to the half mile again. Should have done 170-172mph though. I tore it down again for more extreme head work on the stock castings, more compression, solid roller cam, hi ram intake, methanol fuel, and a bunch of weight reduction, but my head porter strung me along for over a year and I lost interest and sold the car. Now I have a Porsche GT4 that I'm keeping mostly stock to enjoy more driving and less wrenching!

As far as the 2nd to 3rd gear shift, did you find the stock shifter worse or better than this one at avoiding a mis-shift?
Stock shifter was very vague, but I didn't miss many shifts. This one is really more of a feel mod. Seems to go into gear smoothly and quickly, and really made the car a lot more fun on the street. *when paired with a weighted shift knob
@TRSCobra I do not mind my 09 z06 shifter but an aftermarket one would be a neat upgrade. What's the shifter brand again and does this knob come with it? Thanks

What part number lifters were you using here? I think you mentioned Johnson short travel in another video but curious if they're the 2110 ones or another.

@@vanjabi8827 they were overkill for this build and I heard they could drop oil pressure. Since I was still on the stock oil pump at the time I didn't want to deal with that.

@R7300 I got about 150 passes on them before one snapped during a launch at 6500rpm. Later upgraded to 33 spline zr1 axles and conversion hubs

How is the drivability of this cam? Does it surge at low rpm’s? It’s a Pat G so I know it’s killer and the numbers show
We had a hell of a time getting it to do well on the street. I ended up using a different tuner later on and we spent a lot of time and got it really smooth. Would only surge around 1800-2000rpm with light loading. Wasn't much worse than the smaller cam I had prior

@@CornFedZ06 they're awesome. So much more solid than the stock rockers were. I can't speak to longevity though, only ran them for 1000 miles but they were perfect when I pulled them out to go solid roller. Flywheel is steel but the whole RPS Bc2 clutch setup is pretty light.

@@TRSCobra ya I really dont understand how youtube algorithm works bc it showed up in my feed this morning even though I havnt looked up anything related for months. Our track just closed down here in GA (Commerce Dragway) a couple months ago, sucks because I didnt get in enough practice before track sold to a developer. Would have loved to run more but next closest 1/4 track is a good 4hrs away. I was on my street tires, thinking thats why my 60' was shit but who cares, I had a blast either way. Great runs though man!

sick! wow crazy how much better et you did than me. Im not far off on power, dynoed at 508 to the wheel but I did 10 runs and stuck every time around the 12.2 and 12.3 mark (120/121mph). Thinking I need a driver mod and some new tires LOL. Great runs bro! Do you happen to know what the factory gearing is because I cross 1/4 mile at the top of 3rd and you were well into 4th.
Stock gearing will run to 125mph in 3rd gear at 7000rpm. With a really good launch and shifting, 500whp can get you in the high 10s at 125-126mph in the right track conditions.

@@xpeacemaster not sure you know how hard breaking into the 10's can be. It's easy to say it, maybe i'm wrong and you have personal experience in doing so on your z06 but ive yet to see a stock z06 run 10's, TRSCobra did some kick ass runs to get down to that 10.5. Just my 2 cents, unless you have run your car down a track, you won't see the difficulty there is in that. I ran Street Car Takeover this year in Commerce GA and you would be shocked at just how few guys were in that class and what all they had done to their cars to get there. My 11.0 class had very few stick shift cars in it and almost all were nitrous, turbo, or supercharger. The ones that werent happened to be other vettes running NA in the 11's. I would have personally done better in the open stick shift class than 11.0 class. Anyway, Cheers mate!
