The first part is getting out of bounds. When the player interacts with a keypad, the game will try to position Bucky in front of it. The keypad in stumbler's cave is placed on a wall in the cave entrance and is able to be interacted with while behind it. Even when interacting it from behind, it will still force Bucky to be placed infront of the keypad, but the thing is that the game will only look at and change Bucky's forward axis or x axis. It doesn't look at his y axis (his up and down) because it doesn't need it. So if you're traveling upwards and interact with the keypad at the same time, it will put him on the other side like it should but if you're high enough when that happens then it will put you ontop of the cave which is out of bounds. You can't do it inside of the cave because the ceiling is too low. So to get out of bounds you have to triple jump and then bounce off the wall and interact with the keypad at the same time. If you're not high enough when you interact with the keypad then you'll be put below the cave and your only option is to return to main menu. Thats why every time I enter the plaza I use the save canvas incase that happens. Now once you're out of bounds, you have to do a precise wall bounce to get ontop of the plaza roof. This could take 10 seconds or 30 min because its very tricky. You get as close to the wall as possible. If you jump and Bucky has his hand on the wall as he slides down then you're too close. You want to do a triple jump. On the third jump you go towards the wall and mash the jump button as fast as possible. Again tho you have to be barely touching the wall as you do your third jump to a wall bounce. Also don't hold run while you do this because Bucky will recoil away from the wall if you run. If you're too close to the wall when you do your third jump then he gains no height and also recoils away from the wall. Once you are on the roof you just have to run to the exit. The dwellers won't spawn on the roof normally, but if Olive see's you while you are on the roof, theres a small chance that she will instantly teleport to you and catch you and you'll be put in the jail. If you want to run any%, you practically have to do all of this on your first try. This is why I don't really run any%. It can take me from 30min to an hour to get the skip just once, so I was very happy and surprised that I was able to get this relatively quickly in this run. The other runners in the shipwrecked speedrunning discord are the ones who were able to make this happen. We would all join in a discord call and try stuff out. We mainly use glitches to go out of bounds to skip stuff, so I would look at any%. There’s not many glitches at all in the game so when we do find one it’s pretty funny.

It’s just playing the game. The browser thing does suck because I’m on a laptop so whenever Brandon does his thing or I put in a code that opens up CZcams secrets, it tabs me out of the game and lags out the game and video recording because of my limited specs. As for the sewers there’s no reason to go down there at all. You go there to get codebreaker to solve the puzzles but if you’ve already solved the puzzle then there’s no need.

I’m working out an 100% speedrun route and since it requires deleting the appdata save file then it resets the whole game and locks off 1997. In other words, I’m working on it lol.

@@charliejenkins3211 Both technically. I have to get all the bonus chests and the only way to reset them is to wipe away the save that is in the appdata. The version reset is a side effect from it since when you open the game for the first time 1997 is locked.

@@l1z4rdon7 ah, I mean technically an any percent speed run of the full game both versions should be possible without deleting the save file which was more what I was thinking initially but going the full distance is definitely impressive

On an older patch, type “10” when you get to husk and it will skip the whole section.

At the time, getting caught with the battery wasn't allowed. We were still ironing out the rules for it. Me and another runner always got bad luck at the last battery because there's only one way out and the dweller spawning was very screwy. I also screwed up my splits anyways.

No idea if it was patched, but for some reason, the dwellers just disappeared after like 5 minutes when I was exploring that area for my first time? Olivia stopped peeking through the black borders too, I have no idea what caused it, but if anyone finds out it'd probably help a lot for consistent speedruns right?

@@reddodeado301 its a bug but usually you’d have to wait like 20 min or so and even then it’s random if you get it or never get it. I never have it happen to me but I heard of others getting it.

Still don’t know lol. It definitely has to do with the game remembering checkpoints from a previous playthrough but the cause of the teleporting itself is unknown still.

I have, I did try to record once but the recording didn’t turn out great. I have my obs settings configured wrong turns out. I might try running it today actually. I’d have to downpatch the game first. A major skip was patched out that skips husk.

During my first casual playthrough of the game it took me an entire week to beat it. Now you can do so in any% in about 12 minutes, which I find very funny.

lol I’ve been there as well. I even had a spooky friend spawning right next to me one time while I was at the last computer. It’s not fun lol.

The plaza still makes my heart race, so don't worry, it's not fun for me either lol

Sorry for the late response, so if you play the game normally, beat it, then start a new game and play it again, the layer 3 gate will take you to the end of the demo in layer 4 instead of the plaza. So you skip the plaza and all of layer 4 aka the demo. We still don’t know entirely why this happens. The theory is that the game doesn’t wipe certain checkpoints when starting a new game, but that doesn’t explain the teleporting. Like, why does the layer 3 gate exit door start the teleporting and not just any door in the game? We still don’t know.

NG+ has a glitch that skips the plaza and the demo. We still don’t know why it happens.

I try to do the social media thing every now and then but I know I'm not good and I lose interest very quickly. Also I'm very limited in the technical aspect because I only have a laptop. Also I love retro games and Shipwrecked is fun and not very resource intensive. Right now I'm working on making my own ps1 style game, or at least toying around with it. I'm an artist so learning a new type of medium and seeing what I can do feels natural to me. This is when Shipwrecked came out and after playing it and beating it myself it was very inspiring to me and I became very attached to it. Speedrunning a game like this sounded very fun so I tried it and happen to get WR lol.
