Great video. I also made a series on incremental tweaks to my system with the intention of pushing down the noise floor. It has been one of the most effective improvements to the sound of my system. More 3 dimensional sound field, more resolved placement of singers and instruments. My advice to others is start at the mains supply and work up the chain, improving the quality of components. You don’t need to spend a fortune for noticeable improvements.
Very similar to what I’m using on my 2ch setup with my ARCAM FMJ A19 integrated amplifier, and my Dynaudio Emit M20 bookshelf speakers!
I use a copper bolt with hole drilled in the middle.
some people will belive anything
I 'd rather use your design then any market product.
Be wise not to throw away original cases that are ok but just a bit marked. Smooth edge cases especially and embossed logo one like Warner Bro. The smooth edge variety especially as they make a fair bit of the value of a rare cd. PF - DSOTM for example have an entire website devoted to what type of case goes to what cd. Also new cd cases tend to be extremely thin plastic compared to older ones.
Good idea Ian, I should buy some myself!
Interesting stuff buddy .
Fair play Ian, looking good ..
Did you flip it 180 ? 😮
They look good for a first attempt mate
Quite sexy ...still have to watch the build video. Been busy. Proud of you man!
Come on England!!

Looking great Ian 👌
yeap when resluts?
They look great. Plus I imagine they're much better sounding than regular connectors.
They looks pretty OEM to me! Well done!
Very nice ❤❤❤ good job young man ..
👏👏👍
Need more videos like this one 🤘. Cheers
Sorry that's pwobably not the bist speaka caybool in da woold. Yuh'd need anuvva system to to be able to determine the validity of that statement.
So what were the results?
Beautiful job👌
Coming along nicely ❤ good work Ian ❤❤❤
He is living in the 70s , you get the same signal from the original cable he stripped off or even better.
Nice 👍
Good stuff Ian. Jim🏴🙂
Isn't there an acoustic crossover between the two drivers in each cabinet along with interference effects? I appreciate your work, thank you!
Hello, I'm making an off board crossover👍
There's also going to be a capacitor between the two drivers👍
@@tweakerman Thanks! I'll be looking forward...
What type of connector is used?
10% Silver cladded copper👍
@@tweakerman thanks! Will watch the video how you made it.
They look very nice ❤ good work mymate, keeps you out of trouble ❤. .
Nice work Ian ⭐👌
Great job, loving the finish.
Fair play to you Ian , looking very nice ❤❤
Excellent work, Ian! You are really very talented! All the best, Rob in Switzerland
Why didn’t you place the drivers closer
F--k yeah dude....gorgeous. As I said , can't wait for the end-result.
They are looking very good 😁👍
Fantastic as always Ian. 👌🫶
You get more value in changing the Opamps.
Hello, I've done that as well👍
Ian, your knowledge and projects never cease to amaze me! All the best, Rob in Switzerland
This video is garbage, snake oil. Freezing a CD does nothing for it. If it plays then it's 100% fine and the sound is 100%. If it skips, gently clean the surface and see if that improves. That's it. If it continues to skip, the CD player may be faulty, so try another disc or two.
Hey Tweaker man thanks for introducing me to this handmade cable stuff. I just finished a few set a little different then what you do but I have to say they turned out great and sounded great. This cotton dielectric this really does make a difference. I do stick with OFC just because I like the sound of copper over silver and I have all 4 of my conductors covered in cotton then 4 wire braided and use KLE Classic connectors. Thanks for the introduction into this world.
You can also buy sterlingsilver tubing
Won’t the epoxy ooze through the coil and coat the inside in some areas reducing the contact area? With it being silver and open to the air it will most likely oxidise quite quickly I would have thought.
The epoxy hasn't bled through the coil, as the coil is tightly wound, & you can coat the inner part of the coil with deoxit gold to stop deterioration of the silver, alternatively, you can buy gold-plated silver wire & use that instead 👍
Great concept there Ian , you bring plenty of joy to the audio world 👍😁
Fair play Ian ...❤❤❤
Interesting stuff buddy.👍 Jim🏴🙂
Will this platter fit on a technics 1210 or is it for regas and the like
Just for regas, thanks for commenting & watching 👍
Nice Ian! I built a 4" mono for myself from 20mm quality ply. I highly suggest curving the baffle on all sides with a vertical disc sander. You have enough margin with 18 mm. I also rounded off the corners by hand. The stiffness is ideal for vocals. You can hardly feel vibration if any. I'm very curious what the end result will be dude. Good luck!
I've already done it, great minds think alike 👍
