    Another great video - thanks for sharing. If you are concerned about welding next to a hole in a shaft and accidently filling the hole in (such as your cotter pin hole) you could insert a round head machine screw, sheet metal screw or hex headed bolt (depending on what is handy - keep it a loose fit) and then if you do accidently get too close you just weld a bit of the head - sometimes this is even useful as it keeps the screw or bolt from falling out as the shaft is rotated. Once you are done welding you can cut the head off with a hack saw or sand it off with a flap wheel / grinding disc at the shaft level and remove the screw or bolt. Was once taught that if you have a round piece of carbon the correct diameter it can be placed in a larger sized worn or damaged hole and then one can weld up to the carbon material and the carbon will keep the hole reasonably round. Once done remove the carbon and then your hole area should be close to the correct roundness on the inside. Never had a piece of carbon to try it but thought I would mention it if you ever need to try and save a larger hole area in the future.

    • @GardenTractorBoy
      @GardenTractorBoy Před 14 hodinami

      Thank you very much. Thanks for all the great ideas and suggestions. We do not have a any carbon either but we will keep it in mind. We do have a copper bar which we clamp to anything we are welding close to the edge of the material which stops it blowing back. Take care

    I've just bought the ring 4amp 900 series charger, it's basically an upgrade on this 800 series allowing lithium batteries to be charged and slightly higher 9 stage charging progress, the display is larger and brighter and just has the mode button to click through the various battery choices.I ordered from ring website and used the 10% first order discount and it was free postage, not used it yet but i do agree the instructions could be improved and a case/bag would've been handy, but I'll just keep it in original box for storage, also by using the ring website you get an extra year warranty a total of 2 yrs.

    Great work, Joseph. And we always appreciate your detailed explanation of each of the steps in restoring the assembly at hand. Good stuff !!! Have a great weekend.
