make sure you get the outlet tube lined up correctly or no water pressure, there is a grommet on top of the rubber connector hose that must fit securely, had it happen, dont rush .

thanks for this super informative video! I am trying to disconnect the power unit from the midsection so that I can replace my cracked driveshaft housing. But after removing the 6 bolts like the service manual said, the power unit won't budge and not loose at all. Any ideas?

I have the same motor, trying to remove the engine block but after taking all 6 bolts off it doesn't move at all... is there anything else I need to remove first?

Ik kan me niet aan de indruk onttrekken dat die boot met een hoosvat of emmer een stuk sneller leeg zou zijn. Minder leuk, wel veiliger.

Het aan elkaar vastzetten van de schakelstangetjes blijft een raadsel. Nieuwe sparepart gekocht maar zit geen schroefdraad in het ene blokje. Hoe krijg je de 2 messing deeltjes vast op elkaar? Voor de rest bedankt voor de demo.

Sorry for my question ..... Was that the right impeller ? The new one was like a star with straight lines instead of the old one that was like waves....

I just reassembled my motor. As so many others stated, the biggest issue was getting the drive shaft back into its seat in the engine. After several failed attempts, I used a thin, straight metal rod and a flashlight to see that there is a sleeve just under the fly wheel that the shaft needs to get through. First try and by gently feeling it through as I fed the lower unit on, it clicked into place. Gentle tug on the starter cord and it fit right in. Also, I had it in what I thought was reverse, but turned out to be neutral. Adjusting was easy by using pliers to push the shift rod down after loosening the brass clamp in the side, then shifting to reverse, and tightening back down. Thanks again for the excellent video!

Tengo un motor 2.5 Yamaha 4tiempo. Le puse todo correcto el sistema de refrigeración, prendo el motor en baja revolución coje buena agua aceleró a toda máquina y deja de cojer agua

I'm having problems with the same engine... I'm going to take the entire pump housing/assembly and throw it as far as I can.. "high" pressure pump... What nonsense. 38psi lol.. I'm going to fit an in line pump off a car and do away with all this mercury crap. Thank goodness Yamaha had something to do with building the engine or I'd just burn the damn thing. I'm getting tired of the problems these engines have. Mine hasn't even done 100 hours..

What brand of grease used??

One added note, great to have motor up higher like he does here. I missed that front bolt and thought the lower unit was stuck on the power unit. Anti seize on all bolts, lithium/dielectric grease on rubber parts during assembly. Great video overall.
