@@kaleidusvermillion5425 I use a similar build. I only usually need one more wound...otherwise I'd be on easy mode (zealot) I don't rate the Vet keystones so I don't bother with them. So long as your team plats like an actual team (looking at you Zealots) you can be more utility support with buffs.

as @AlexBel1 said, the veteran's keystones are not really needed for any build. For specific build, however, like the melee veteran, the down-right keystone is needed. And for me at least, i found so many points way more interesting than the keystones in itself for like, survival, or just a bit more dmgs without the specific condition the keystone require. As for the curio, 2 wounds is too little, since you can easily get one shot, but 4 means I have 1 less slot of curio for my "quality of combat"

i think they think they need to ping multiple time the same enemy to have the stacks of that keystone (middle one veteran) wich not work like that, but it seems that not everyone can properly read in the 41st millenium lmao

not be used as primery weapon (veteran's an other storie with his ammo sustain), can (surprisingly) snipe targets at long range with the single shot, and an extremely powerful close range weapon with the burst shot (put them barrels on the forehead of your enemy)

yeah, it's kinda lacking some real diversity, the tree skill is fine i think, but the real problem comes from a (too) tiny pool of weapons. At least for me

infantery lasgun 's place is in my heart (played at least 250h with only the MGXII and power sword with the veteran until the tree skill revamp). And happy purging !

singel barrel for mid/long range, both for close range. simple as ! (but ooooh the pleasure to transform a rager into a blood mist when firing both barrels)

a bit of power or stagger could be nice, but i find its attack speed on point to be honest (maybe with the veteran while aiming, it may be a bit slow tho)

it never hurt having more hp than needed, and we were supprised by the abundance of heath stim, so we just used it almost immediatly if we already had another stim. but it's true it was a bit overkill. and thank you for taking the time to comment, really appreciated !

shovel definitly is a good melee weapon for the veteran, take the standard one if you have some anti armor ranged weapon (like a bolter or plasma gun), and take one of the other two if you don't have anti armor ranged weapon (i took the Mk VII because i prefer the attack pattern). It has high defense and stamina, can be a good horde control and/or a good anti armor weapon (the specials from the Mk III and Mk VII). For the blessings, I go with more impact and dmgs

yes, it's not in the skins rotation now, but it should come back one day

i found the Mk VIIa to be fine, but yeah, the Mk VId definitly needs one. dunno about the Mk II tho
