I Love class 37
Cool shot of the exhaust stack, cheers from British Columbia Canada :)
Great Camera Work I Wonder if it’s a professional Crew or a Member of the Public!
When is it from?
Pretty unique sound imho
Reminds me of "Super Rescue" from the Railway Series.
So close to 6k subsi subbed
Why not pick up the detonators?
why was it that loud
Nice
Nice sounds from the class 37s. Good video! 👍
I love the sound of the class 37s 😊
Bootiful video there my boi ! 🥰
Class 37 might be my favourite British loco, iconic silhouette. This livery looks great as well. One question though, I don't suppose "Slug" is used here in the American meaning of this word -- is it a nickname for the 37s? Greetings from Poland and thanks for the video.
Hi there in Poland ! There were only 2 class 37s nicknamed ‘slugs’ they had either a Mirrlees or a Ruston 6 cylinder engine instead of the V12 English Electric and were very slow getting from idle to full rpm hence the name ‘slug’ . You have fine taste in locomotives ! 👍
@@dieselmanmike Oh I see. Nickname seems appropriate then, and might explain why I think I never encountered it before if there were only 2 of them. Thank you very much for the explanation.
I'm new to trains so I'm wondering why they use detonators and how that doesn't damage the train?? If anyone knows please tell me
as far as im aware, detonators must be placed braking distance from a broken down vehicle to warn the driver there is an obstruction ahead even though he would have to get permission to pass the previous signal at danger and be fully aware of where it is, its just another precaution thats been in place for years. And they are only a small explosion more audible than anything so doesnt cause any damage to the railhead or wheels.
That was loud 😂
Thanks for the upload on CZcams. Great to see them still working. Brings back fond memories of growing up in the UK. Michael Australia
Great video, great loco! 💙
Nice catch!
Super sounds. Excellent video.
Very nice video...❤❤❤ greetings from Zagreb Croatia 😊
Staller
Is it a multicylinder "hit and miss" engine control in that loco? Joking!' The railroad version of a tow truck... The coupling used for towing our veteran railcar is much more simple, and faster, to attach..... Does the diesel loco driver have any other brakes then the ones on his loco? The coupling looked very simple.
Also some high pressure sodium lights
Thats MH
It's hilarious that the 37s are tasked with rescuing the new 755s.quality was amazing during this video. What Camera do you use? 😅
You could hear that piston knock like you get from 60s at low revs in the video but I didn’t hear it at the time. Nice.
Does it still have its Mirrlees Engine installed as it don’t sound different to the Normal E E 12CSVT
definitely still a mirrlees, throbs much deeper and sounds better in person! Still roars similar to an EE tbf
Thank you
Nice clip of the class 37!
That 37 is the same sound from gcr Roblox
That siding is now out of use.
they still run tampers and network rail equipment in and out of there regularly from what ive seen
Whoa! That’s violent startup
Nice one. I used to play "Ilkley Moor Baht' At" on the 2-tones, but never tried "Jingle Bells".
that little white motor at beside of this blue motor:
A good attempt by the driver. Super video 🙂
Great to see reminds of my youth in Ipswich. Now living in Australia. Thanks for the memories.
What a beautiful sound the "37" makes, both on idle and powering up.
Priceless, a piece of foreign rubbish being rescued by a 62 year old British locomotive, love it...
is that a diesel engine?
yes, a lister petter AC1ZS in ‘Pat the Petter’ and a Lombardini high speed diesel in ‘Tod the Tug’
Great shot❤😁👍keep up the nice work
❤
British built trains having to rescue foreign built trains
2:41 that guy started doing my head in 😂
And now its happened again!
Those look like metal halide not mercury vapor
Those look like metal halide not mercury vapor
Old generations still having to rescue the new! It’s like when the UP Big Boy had to save a stalled diesel train. Pushed it while pulling its own train with ease.
The quality is outstanding I must ask what camera did you film this with? 😮

Its frustrating to see that the driver of the passenger train has not been properly trained in rescue & recover proceedure for his train. This is the state of the privatised system today and upper managements attitude to penny pinching and crew training, save a penny today and lose a £ tomorrow. The driver didn't even know how to isolate the air supply to the electrical head on the delnar coupler and this is because his training would have consisted of a power point presentation and not actual practice.
Still using detonator protection . We used to carry 12 in a tin. Not really necessary in clear conditions when the driver has come to a stand and can see the stationary train ahead but essential at night in this situation or in fog.
