Just moved to the Charlotte metro area from the NYC area and Miami area and I can tell you if you're tired of the big city fast paced life, want more affordable housing, but still have some big city amenties then Charlotte is the place for you! It has the perfect balance of small town and big town energy.

  • @thedreadfulwhale6465

As a native Charlottean since 1996 the best way to describe it is a city that is not keeping up with its rapid growth. It used to be a small quiet southern city but it has grown so much and has had such an influx of New Yorkers that the southern culture is pretty much gone. The city has done a terrible job in planning for future growth. All the major roads here are still two lane roads which makes the traffic horrendous. Crime has gotten way worse, the CMS school system has got to be one of the worst in the country, apartments are being built on every corner, etc. its nothing like it used to be when I was young. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to move here because I really the city has a whole lot to offer at this point that you can’t find in any other big city that is built to handle its population.

Charlotte is for families and single men. This message is for single ladies. I currently live in Charlotte but looking to move within this year. 1. Shopping is the worst here. The fashion Buyers for the stores do not know fashion. 2. If you’re looking for big city vibes, Charlotte is not it. 3. If you’re a single heterosexual female that moved from Cali, Texas, DMV or Tri-state and you’re looking for eye candy, you won’t be happy here and chances are if you do find one, that’s someone else’s man because it’s extremely slim pickings. I think I’ve seen maybe 7 in the past 4 years and that’s being generous

I hear what yall are saying on price. But, as someone who grew up and still works in the Hickory Grove area, I would advise people not to move there. If you do, neighborhoods off Robinson Church Rd aren't bad and avoid anything close to Milton Rd and WT Harris Bv. Not a bad place for food though. Teddy's Pizza and Pandas Den are staples.

The NC tolls are a SCAM scam. I signed up for the monthly automatic refill on my account with the toll system. I authorized $20 a month because I only use it on the weekends sparingly. They somehow increased it to $30 without my permission. And when I called to deauthorize it they said I couldn't. I deactivated the entire account.

Public service announcement: As Americans, we have the God given right to move to anywhere we please. I love how people say “Dont come here” in the comments like we are illegal immigrants. And probably still renting.Everyone deserves the right to go somewhere where they can raise their family and be apart of the community and not have to worry about the things that made them leave their home state. Im a big 2A supporter and my home state is blue. I have family in NC so its a easy transition. The driving sucks down here tho😂😂😂

Charlotte is trash, the amount of violence, car break ends, armed robbery, bad traffic. It’s not a good place to raise children, the school system produces seniors who only read on a 5th grade level.
