Your story expands upon something I read this morning from a book by Oswald Chambers. He writes about how God gives us life as we overcome. . . that the strain is the strength. Thinking you definitely saved more by doing the challenge! July was a month of overindulgence of ice cream for me. Even on sale, it "ate" into my food budget (along with too many snacks) 😥 Still, by doing the challenge I only average $80/week rather than $110/week --- so progress! Food is experensive here in PNW but I can still aim to get costs below $80/week. Let's see what August brings. 😃

Gave in to a slaw craving about 3 weeks ago! It is one of my favorite summer salads. I am going to try it with relish next time; that looks tasty. Grateful for whatever landed me on your channel so many months ago! I am always moved by these weekly Words that you share. Sister, there is nothing like the peace found in the Lord. (And I don't care how cliche that sounds 😆). Truly - I am surrounded by people who have material abundance yet they have little or no peace. Their days are filled with anxiety and overthinking about how they appear to others. Without God's mercy, I would have no peace. Even the trials He allows in our lives, He truly does work to make good from them. Not sure how to express it, only that I feel my faith has been strengthened by the hardships endured. How often I have wondered HOW I would ever have gotten through life events without my Lord and my God. My heart leapt with joy to hear you speak about finding "home" in a new church. Ever since you mentioned starting work with the shop, it felt like it was the beginning of the unwrapping to reveal a wonderful and abundant gift. Even if the S.A. church is for right now, it seems you are being Spirit led. God has you and your beautiful family in His care. And the treasure is that you KNOW and are aware of His presence with you. Always. ❤

This is a beautiful lesson, and thank you for offering that prayer (I prayed along with you! 🙂) Just this week after learning more about an individual whose actions have caused me much anxiety, I felt a peace and sense of understanding that I could not find without prayer. HE truly does take even the agitating, unpleasant situations and give them a clean slate, a fresh start to move forward. Had pride been the main focus, the truth behind the misunderstandings would not have allowed anyone to seek understanding. And I am with you thoroughly: I will gratefully take JESUS over any earthly riches. Peace of mind and heart is priceless. It can be present even through profound suffering. Kroger does have some good sales, and I've had that happen when the sign says one price but it rings up differently. Do you ever ask for an adjustment at the courtesy counter? I have done that, and sometimes it is as though they're expecting me. . . ha ha ha!!! You inspired me to get outside despite the heat, fuel up and pick up some of those grapes and other deals. Thanks to one of your past hauls, I tried the Kroger brand ice cream and really like it! It sure is more cost effective than the stuff I had been purchasing. With this heat wave, ice cream cravings have escalated! Kudos also to Chef for a lovely display of the haul. 👍😃👍
