I have a condition called upper limbs spasticity that results in my left hand being clenched all the time and some contraction in the muscles on my left hand side. I would be unable to grip the handle with my left hand and would have to rely entirely on my right hand which maybe doable I currently use a manual wheelchair and propellant by using my right arm and my right le. I am looking at emds electronic mobility devices to hopefully obtain a better way of getting around. This device would be great for someone who has the ability to use the handles

Well done video. This looks like a piece of equipment that was meant for me. As of now, I use an ultra-light manual chair for daily tasks such as work or most things outside of the house. However, an ultra-light isn't crafted for tasks such as this lady's enjoying. I just wish (that) I could get pricing for the GRIT Freedom Chair.

I've only been in a wheelchair for about 8 months now.. And I had no idea those handle things existed. I've just been building my upper body strength and saving up for all terrain tires for my chair! (It's a quickie 2, tires can just be taken off/swapped out as long as the axle and tire are appropriate sizes/adjusted correctly) You probably get this question frequently, but.. did you HAVE to get an entirely new chair, or were you able to modify one you currently had? I would really appreciate an answer.. Though of course I'm about to go google crazy seeing if I an find these things. 🤣 EDIT: Holy crap! I lived in Cedar City, Utah, in 2005-2007!

Thanks. I have an suv which won’t close unless I remove either a wheel or the backrest. The backrest tabs have come out so I’m hesitant to do that.

Fat tires please

We live in a rainy area and at our new home, the yard is a bit muddy underneath the grass. The 400 lb motor wheelchair used sank into the mud and prevents exploration of the backyard without us doing some major changes. We rent so, it can be a money drain. Will the GRIT Freedom Chair be able to handle that type of terrain?

I am from Uruguay, a third developed country, what I see with the chairs, though the idea is amazing, is that people with back issues make a huge effort to move the chair. An optional small battery engine to propel the chair would be great, and the spine alignment wouldn't be so forced into non natural positions. Just my small 2 cents! The idea is just amazing, KUDOS to you guys!

That's so cool. I'd you've ever seen the inside of a tank they have two sticks that control the tires on the right and left and this looks exactly like that 😄

I live in Colorado, too & just ordered my Spartan! I can't wait to get back out on our beautiful trails! No more being left behind while friends & family are out having fun! Perk... I'm gonna have awesomely toned arms!

I know you have been selling this since 2017 and it's 2022, but wouldn't it be better if you had to pull the handles towards you? i understand the pushing motion might be more familiar to someone that uses a whellchair but I think the adjustment is well worth being able to use your biceps to move. The drawback is that you should probably be strapped in the chair or else the pulling motion in particularly steep hills might lift your body from the chair

My Grit chair allows me to get outside and exercise. It has been critical to my recovery from a serious motorcycle accident. It is exactly what I needed and I enjoy riding it, it was money well spent!!!

For sand you want fat bald smooth tires

I’m a stroke survivor, and I was diagnosed with locked in syndrome. After a few months of not being able to move, or speak at all. I slowly started gaining movement, and vocal grunts. Well, fast forward through a few years of therapy I’m obviously not "locked in". I still go to the gym a couple times a week. Still getting stronger. I’ve been researching "off-road wheelchairs/bikes for handicapped", and I’m not ready at all for a hand propelled bike, or anything of the like. I came across these, and the thought of being just a little more active finally showed it’s face through GRIT.
