    Benefits to stacking like this? Minus it just looking cool asf.

    • @ECHOTools
      @ECHOTools Před 10 dny

      Hi Chris, thanks for your question. There are several benefits (sorry for the long reply): 1. Efficient Drying: • Air Circulation: The round shape of a Holz Hausen allows air to circulate more freely around the wood, promoting faster and more even drying. • Moisture Management: The conical design helps to shed water, preventing it from pooling on the stack and reducing the risk of mold or rot. 2. Space Efficiency: • Compact Storage: A Holz Hausen can hold a large amount of wood in a relatively small footprint, making it ideal for those with limited space. • Vertical Storage: The stack is built upward rather than outward, which helps to save space in your yard or storage area. 3. Stability: • Self-Supporting Structure: The round shape and the way the wood is stacked inwards as you build up create a stable, self-supporting structure. This reduces the need for additional support or ties. • Resistance to Wind: The conical design is more wind-resistant compared to traditional stacks, reducing the likelihood of the stack toppling over in bad weather. 4. Aesthetic Appeal: • Visually Pleasing: Many people find the round shape of a Holz Hausen more aesthetically pleasing than traditional wood piles. It can become a feature in your yard, blending functionality with beauty. 5. Ease of Access: • Central Core Storage: Often, the center of the Holz Hausen is filled with smaller pieces or kindling, making it easy to access and use. • Top-Down Usage: As the wood is used from the top down, the stack remains stable until the very end. 6. Temperature Retention: • Heat Generation: As the wood dries and the sun warms the stack, it can generate a small amount of internal heat, which further aids in drying the wood. Overall, a Holz Hausen is a practical and efficient way to store and dry firewood, with the added benefits of stability and aesthetic appeal.

    My impressions, I own this saw, and the CS 620, and I will say that both perform as good if not better than any Husqvarna or Stihl I have ever ran or owned. This coming from a 30 year Husqvarna Operator....lol I actually prefer the CS 620 on steep ground in the woods because it is lighter, and more ergonomic, and outstanding with a 24" bar and chain in land clearing, and small to large Timber. I do run the 7310 with a 32" bar for large Timber, and stumpage, etc. No power issues, and very rugged and reliable!

    I had three choices for picking up a new saw for bucking. Husqvarna, stihl, or echo. I went with the echo 590s As its just a better bang for your buck, and made in japan, by Japanese workers, where people make their way in life off of skill, pride and dedication, not ridiculous identity quotas.

    Does anyone know if 100% of the parts (engine internals etc) are made in Japan? I saw some cheaper Echo saws at my local hardware store in Australia (Bunnings) and they had "Made in PRC" stickers on them. Yet the Echo distributor in Australia emailed me to confirm all Yamabiko products are made in Japan. Currently deciding between a 501SX, MS261 and 550XP and I'll go with the Echo if it's guaranteed to be 100% made in Japan.

    • @ECHOTools
      @ECHOTools Před 3 měsíci

      Hi, thanks for your question. Right now all ECHO products are made entirely in Japan with the exception of blowers, which are assembled in the USA. We previously had facilities in PRC where products were assembled but this is no longer the case. I hope this is clear. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate!

    • @doakwolf
      @doakwolf Před 3 měsíci

      @@ECHOTools great, thanks for the clarification. I guess the local Bunnings store here in Australia still has some old PRC stock on the shelf. I did notice on the 501SX, the plate clearly states "Assembled in Japan" so I am going to get myself a new Echo.

    • @ECHOTools
      @ECHOTools Před 4 měsíci

      Hi Lisa, the chain break is the big black lever at the front of the saw. When it is pushed forward it is engaged and prevents the chain from moving, pull it back to disengage it before you attempt to remove the side cover. Make sure the nuts are completely loosened, you may need to pull quite firmly to remove the cover.
