    If you have chronic migraines, you probably will want to take medication for that

    • @FeliciaFollum
      @FeliciaFollum Před 20 dny

      Um thanks!!! Medication brings me down to where the more natural remedies help. When I was 7 I got 35 a month. For a long time I was down to 17, now I'm down to 4 a month. I treat my headaches and my short ones. My migraines are in the 95th percentile even with medication. Hormones, smells, sounds, lights, and more can trigger them (they only actually count as a migraine if they last 4+ hours - so stopped when they start is essential) Thanks for your medical advice though, 90% of medications don't work for many of us, including me.

      @@christagreuter91 hey thanks!! Oh man, so I feel like I'm in a place where I'm changing and growing a lot right now. I found out I have ADHD in December so it's funny a lot of my outgoing-ness, I think is impulsive and a lack of social norms. Which helps me enjoy selling, exhibitions, teaching and travel (maybe this is my 5w4 where I love to learn about anything new but also the dopamine hit) I don't actually do much live art but I definitely love working in public in a corner, more than doing homework in a corner. I do LOVE having booths at art fairs, where one or two people come in and I share in depth with them. Also over COVID I had a solo gallery show where I had people sign up and I did walk throughs. It was intense but I really do thrive in small intimate groups and if I can dive into an intellectual deep conversation, I LOVE that but small talk with a large group drains me very quickly Idk, does that answer your question? Let me know if you want more... Do you relate? In what ways?

      ‘Woke’ being hijacked by crazy liberal whites helped destroy the black liberation movement of the 2010s. There were actual people who were white that were and are fully functioning members of the woke movement.

    A very difficult, nuanced, and kind of technical subject to boil down to a note card. So to correct a few misunderstandings here? No offense intended, but it is much more complicated than that. For instance, you may want to look up the definition of condone. Because the Bible does in fact condone slavery. It regulates it too for sure, but also condones. If you're going to argue that the Bible didn't condone slavery, then America didn't condone slavery either. A position I doubt you want to take? And chattel slavery was not invented during colonial times. It's existed throughout history. And has nothing to do with kidnapping by the way. Chattel slavery is simply owning another person as property for their entire lives, along with their children after them and forced to work without wages. And this in fact is in the Bible too. You seem to be under the mistaken impression that since the Hebrew in Exodus 21 had a six year contract, that foreigners also did. They did not. They were slaves for life. And their children after them, owned as property. It's laid out very plainly in Leviticus. So they were chattel slaves. You are very correct that they were not subject to the Sabbath or Jubilee release like the Hebrews were though. But incorrect that they just had to finish their "contract" because they had no contract. They were purchased as lifelong slaves. And slaves most certainly could be beaten according to the Bible. Without punishment. There are simply limitations to how badly they could be beaten. And the runaway slave law? This is talking about slaves from other nations that runaway TO Isreal, and not to slaves within Israel. A more complicated subject but read most any commentary and you'll see. And if you look into it with this in mind? There are more similarities between Biblical and American slavery than there were differences it turns out. Hope that helps!!

    • @FeliciaFollum
      @FeliciaFollum Před 4 měsíci

      I have looked into it. More in the past than recently tbh though Please site your references to where in the Bible you are finding your examples. The main distinction was between American slavery and Biblical slavery. They do not seem the same at all... This was mostly off of the cuff though. It's actually not a topic I'm currently able to dig deeper into. Please share your references and I will check them out. Thank you!

    • @nickbrasing8786
      @nickbrasing8786 Před 4 měsíci

      @@FeliciaFollum Thanks for the reply. I can appreciate that you haven't looked into that deeply or that recently. I might suggest not doing a video on such a complicated subject though. But in answer to your question, I'll do my best. In general Exodus 21, but specifically Leviticus 25:44-46; "Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves. You may also buy some of the temporary residents living among you and members of their clans born in your country, and they will become your property. You can bequeath them to your children as inherited property and can make them slaves for life, but you must not rule over your fellow Israelites ruthlessly." As to beating a slave? That would be Exodus 21:20-21. You couldn't beat them so badly that you killed them immediate (or knocked out an eye or tooth), but other than that there's no punishment for beating your slaves. As verse 21 says "since the slave is your property" As to the similarities between Biblical and American chattel slavery? Here's my top 10 list. 1. Owned as property? Both 2. Owned for their entire lives? Both 3. Children born to them automatically became slaves too? Both 4. Could be beaten? Both 5. Bought from other nations? Both 6. Could not be killed? Both (look it up) 7. Forced to work? Both 8. Didn't get paid? Both 9. Involuntary? Both 10. Families could be broken up? Both Really more similarities than there were differences probably. Happy to answer any other questions you might have.

    I suggest reading "Faster Than Normal: Turbocharge Your Focus, Productivity, and Success with the Secrets of the ADHD Brain" by Peter Shankman. I found it to be very helpful, especially in trying to think of ADHD as not a disability, but an advantage. It's not easy. I just got off my medication for ADHD as it was affecting to many other things like my ability to regulate my anger. I have yet to find a combination of medication that helps, but I have found things like Journalling, using a planner, taking a supliment (Focus Factor, which is a brain boosting multivitamin), writing notes for myself and giving myself some grace seems to help. Also, exercise is an important part that I'm trying to get back into doing. The last thing I'll mention I just saw within the last couple of days is called the Honeyman Method by Hayley Honeyman. Basically you have levels to your routine. So when you wake up feeling super energized and focused, you do the ideal routine. When you wake up feeling average, you have your normal routine. When you wake up really low energy, you have your bare minimum routine. That way you don't always feeling like you are failing to adult, but you work with your ADHD to give yourself some grace, or utilize it when you are having a high energy or high focus day. It resonated with me, have yet to impliment anything, but it's been stewing in my brain since I watched it. czcams.com/video/JQFZNQS6eQ0/video.html

    Thank you for sharing! I didn't know the entire history of how woke was used previously, but that completely makes sense. I've always thought of "woke" as just being aware, being aware of other people and the world around you. Of being awake and seeing the world as it actually is and not burying your head in the sand and pretending that nothing matters but your own thoughts and feelings. That's why when I hear people use that word as a derogatory statement, I just see them with their heads buried so far up their ass that they can't see the world around them. They can't even conceive a world outside of their own experiences. Like the GOP Senator who said Hunger is a relative term and that he's never met a hungry person, so he voted against providing food for school kids. There really should be a term we could use for people who are that willfully ignorant.

    The book marks are a great idea. I have seen only one booth that passed these out and they seem to have gone over very well. On occasion I will see business cards scattered on the grounds of the art show, but I didn’t see even one book mark on the ground at the one show where they were being passed out. You are definitely on to something with those handouts. Do you maintain a sign-in ledger for people to fill out if they want to see your stuff on their computer? I’ve seen several that do this. They ask for one’s name, address and email address so that the artist can send out announcements as to upcoming shows, new additions to the artist’s website, etc. -OkieSketcher1949

    thanks for making this video! it's really great to see your perspective on olive skin tones. hearing about colors that work for you (deep teal, rust, autumn yellows, beige instead of grey, nothing too bright), I was wondering what you think of deep/dark autumn for yourself? so long as what you're doing is working for you I love the swinter deep, but I just wanted to bring up the possibility of DA and hear what you think of it!

    • @FeliciaFollum
      @FeliciaFollum Před rokem

      The tricky thing with DA is that I do for sure have a cool undertone and DA greens are by far my worst colors. DA olive greens make me look sickly bc they bring out all of the olive in my face. The DW can offer wear DA colors leaning towards the cool end or for me deep. Also being tan, and in summer, more tan, I CAN wear more DA colors bc the warm tones are more visible in but I'm still cool so I really can't be autumn I am still playing 😉
