The Plan-Do-Check-Act Model
Steve King shares more great wisdom on the most recent Accelerating Operational Performance podcast.
Achieve greater performance and results with the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) Cycle 💡
1. Plan: Start by defining the problem as precisely as possible. A well-defined problem sets a strong foundation for effective solutions.
2. Do: Execute your plan with confidence. Remember, perfection isn't required to take action.
3. Check: Evaluate the results. Did you achieve your objectives? Are your KPIs aligning with expectations?
4. Act: Adjust and iterate. The goal is to continuously refine and improve your processes.
The secret to achieving greater performance and results lies in consistent, fast-paced evaluations and adjustments. Embrace the PDCA model and watch your improvements compound over time.
Check out the full podcast episode on your preferred streaming platform to learn more about these strategies and transform your approach to problem-solving and performance enhancement!

    How do you tell an employee the food they heat in the microwave, a large lunch room and 100 employees, stinks up the lunchroom and half of the offices? It's usually a strong fish. Thank you in advance. 😊

      Thank you for your question and I'm sure other viewers have faced something similar. When a person's actions impact others it warrants a similar conversation as the body odor one. You could post a sign for microwave etiquette, asking people to be mindful of what they're heating up or have a discreet discussion with the exact person. I'd recommend talking to HR to see if there is anything in your employee handbook/bargaining agreement relating to this subject. HR can also be a good mediator for tough conversations.

    Unions are part of the breeding grounds for these weak gen z *men*. I agree with treat employees with respect , open door policy ,never ask them to do something you wouldn’t do yourself , and you have to bring value to the table . With that being said … if employees still act like bitc*es… there’s an old saying : get on board or get out of the way so we can hire someone that doesn’t menstruate

      Great question! Usually with a larger team spread out geographically, you won’t be able to interact with them as frequently. You might run a series of town hall sessions, or ensure that when you visit their location or have them on a video call that you make time to give them updates and ask for their input and feedback. If you have team leaders between you and the team members you can encourage them to have more contact and then you debrief with them. The idea is to spend some of your time and energy interacting with your team proactively so that they know you care.

    This is important right now because we are dealing with a generation that probably will not respond well if not chosen. I work in a large company and was passed over and to say it is/was demoralizing would be an understatement! I normally participate in a lot and go above and beyond. Today I had a meeting and just didn't attend because I don't care about doing something extra for a place that so obviously doesn't value me. That is how I feel.....so for everyone getting the little public pat on the back I think there are a lot of employees feeling legit resentment and pulling back.

    • @unique.leadership
      @unique.leadership Před 5 měsíci

      Terribly sorry to hear you've had that experience. We don't like to encourage that in our training programs for that exact reason. One tool we try to encourage managers to use is called the B.E.T. Method and that stands for behavior, effect and thank you. It is a simple tool for positive reinforcement when managers are communicating with team members. When managers notice a behavior, let that team member know as well was say what effect it had on the team and close it off with a simple "Thank-you". So it may sound something like this: "Rebecca I noticed you gave some really good insights in the meeting today. Your comments really push the team to expand their thinking. Thank -you" Simple and effective positive reinforcement.

      @@unique.leadership In my opinion, the majority of employees do not feel motivated by EOM programs....or they feel resentment. The BET sounds like antecedent/consequences or using descrite trial training in special ed. From my perspective I don't feel comfortable even working where I am right now because I was passed over so in two-months when the 401K is vested I am leaving. When these programs are not carried out properly I think they can do more harm than good.

    This IS one possibility, but not usually the correct one. Yes some people can't or don't think for themselves but in MY experience the reason you ask is to get approval, if an employee thinks for themselves and acts upon it, they are usually reprimanded and told to ask before doing. Second, if an employee is asked what they think they about a situation, they often feel dis-empowered as they are not credited with the solution and feel they are doing the job of the higher-up.
