You can pay $0 to fix the shifter on your Ford Explorer. I did it with a socket and a screw driver. You can do it to. I don't care if you like my video. I'm just trying to help people fix their Ford Explorer that won't go into park. If your Ford Explorer won't go into Park, then watch this video.

Thanks for the video. I had trouble finding the bolt that had to be removed from the console but once I did it was an easy fix. Thanks again!
Lucky!!!!!!!!!!
can we get a sound version
No sound was available on those older cameras
I’m having the exact opposite problem, the thing won’t come out of park and I’ve already bent the metal a bit. What do you recommend? I’m in a 2013 Ford Edge S and all the parts are the same with what you were dealing with. I’ll keep looking stuff up.
Look at the micro switch. If you are physically going into park, but the electronics don't recognize that, the micro switch could be bad.
💢 Exact 💯 problem... local dealer quoted $880 to fix it I almost paid .... thought I'd get a 2nd opinion ▪︎. Then BOOM 💥 3 days later, I see this video ❗️
Excellent Lesson!
We just got a 2013 last week and this issue occurred. We found your video and it worked!! The only thing is, he wasn’t sure exactly how much to bend it or in which direction, we keep watching it trying to see lol. It’s happening again already so we think we were too gentle with the metal maybe. But thank you, this was a great video- love the outro 😂
Thank you!! You saved us $$ with this quick fix!
Whoa! You used the word "obtrusive"?
Good job sir! Thanks for putting the video on youtube. My mother has a TURD Explorer, I'll fix it and buy her a CHEVROLET :)
Mines won’t go in park either I have a 2010 Ford Taurus with the same issue? Any suggestions?
Sorry I can't help. I don't know if the shifters are the same.
@@JesseChoupique lol it was the cable underneath the hood I just fixed it! Thanks anyways!
Thank you Sr. 🎉
How do you drill the hole that accommodates the button pegs through the finger board without the drill bit wandering out of alignment please?
I have my Dad’s 1976 Bicentennial accordion that I spent several days watching Mr. Sidney build in between the other repairs and builds he had going. It was a hell of an experience for a 7yr old to have!
Love it
Appreciated bud!
Question:1) Who did you apprentice with? 2) Who made Boozoo Chavis's green one-row? I got to meet Larry Miller in San Antonio a couple times in the early/ mid 90s. I almost bought one of his German-made black accordions for 600 at the time. His own were about 900-1000. I met Mark Doucet in L.A. in the late 80s.
I apprenticed with Larry Miller; he's a heck of a guy. I spent a lot of time with other builders learning different techniques. I don't know about Boozoo's accordion.
Is there any reason that people do not try to put piezo contact mics on the reed blocks ?
You can do it, but it's not a very "natural" sound. The advantage is that the piezo will have very little feedback issues. You can do it, but you may not be happy with the sound.
@@JesseChoupique ok. Thanks for the reply! I may try it just to see. Its for a live setting with a loud band... Having trouble with different mic methods.
@@roughneckchris You can try an internal mic to help reduce feedback, but this also gives a very strange effect. Zydeco guys love it; folks trying to get a "natural" sound hate it. Another possibility that I used personally and works very well is in ear monitors.
@@JesseChoupique I may do that as well. I play in a Tex Mex band and the bass is super loud !!
Jesse I’ve been looking at lift kits and the only one I found was from the Jeepster Man and they seem to be about double what something from rough country would be for a 1972 scout international. Where did you get your lift kit?
That was like 7 or 8 years ago. I got them from Hell Creek.
I’m go try it out now thank you hope it works for me 🙏🏿
what wood do you use
All kinds. Hard maple, cherry, oak, heart of pine. It's not like a guitar or fiddle where the body is acting as a resonator. In the case of an accordion, the wood is chosen for looks and not sound.
Lol c’est trop drôle moi je parle français naturellement
Great great video. Thank you
I owe you a beer.
Did you make the reeds ? Or where do you get them from
I buy the reeds from Italy. They are Binci hand made professional.
@@JesseChoupique thank you. And Very nice work, I can tell you have the right mindset for this kind of work.
You ROCK!!!! What a BLESSING to have the BENEFIT of your experience!! !!Thanks BROTHER!!
Where do you get the reeds from?
Thank you for this ! Just finished fixing mine .
great !
Thank you so much my friend 👌👍😉 my son just bought a used 2013 explorer a very nice vehicle and it started doing that exact same thing and we both were like shit here we go again vehicle's now days difficult to work on but thanks to people like u and you video can help others so so much and give others a peice of mind thanks again you are totally awsome my friend Mark Melgosa
Mark Melgosa Any updates.. did u guys fix the issue. I'm having the same problem with my 2013 explorer
Stealers always gonna steal
Thanks bud. I've been messing around with this shifter for almost 3 years now. I've been beating the shit out of it. And here that's all I had to do. Much appreciated, thanks again.
I have the same kit. Can you post a picture of the disc you made? Which two colors did you use coming from the compressor? (It looks like the yellow and white)
This guy is 100% correct perfect explanation saves couple hundred ever 2-3 years Thank you!! People need to help each other just like this Ford should have taken care of this design flaw
I bought the kit. I’m having trouble lining the disk holes properly. What was the process you used to get the holes right?
Just read what you wrote earlier Already addressed that!
@@scannotiger What song are you trying to play?
@@JesseChoupique the pregame. For my tailgating van
HAHAHAHAHA (the dogs: Common hooman, y'almost were...)
What’s the breed of the adorable dogs?
They are half full size poodle, half golden retriever. They are really smart and good natured.

my 4 dogs only follow commands in italian lol
It's amazing how you can change a few words and act like that's not the song that even Hank Williams Jr couldn't even buy, but tried to. My daddy is to sing the original to me. Did you buy the copyrights or something.
No. It's perfectly legal to make a "parody" of a song, book, or movie. Same concept that Weird Al Yankovic doesn't pay royalties for "Eat It" (Beat It), "Like a Surgeon" (Like a Virgin), or anything else.
What did you make the disk out of? I’ve got to make one of these for my tailgate van
I found a piece of thin plastic sheet from a packing box.
It went so fast , I got dizzy.

Я в шоке...Захотел поиграть на гармошке, взял и сделал себе гармошку. Сидит и играет...
Love their version of this lovely waltz
Sidney Brown was my great great uncle also.
Why did you cut up that 72 commando so sad
cut it up? he didnt cut anything. the commandos sit so low from the factory. it looks stock with a 2inch lift
Do you think you can make a instructional video on how to Build a Cajun accordion as you did in this video or one explaining how you did it ?
No. It takes quite a while as an apprentice to learn. You will never learn by reverse engineering, watching videos, looking at pictures, or talking to people. It's just to complicated. I'm not being a jerk....just being honest. Find a master and spend a year with them. Otherwise, it's really difficult.
Jesse Brown thank you I do appreciate you explaining this to me and I’m sure your right wood work in general isn’t the easiest thing and I’m sure putting the other components together is hard but I do appreciate your advice and you taking your time to explain
Jeep Commando. “Jeepster” was dropped with AMC. Nice Jeep. I own one too.
