Fixing a Dash Pad Air Bubble

www.justdashes.com - Here's a quick video of how to fix a air bubble that's in your dash. If you don't have a heat gun, a hair dryer will work too.

The day Sophie got her turtle was the worst day of her life!
It will be back 😢
Heat guns can got to 500 degrees and easily melt the vinyl if not careful. This guy is a pro. Try a high temp hair dryer with heat settings and start on low. Better safe then a melted dash My 86 Toyota Truck OEM dash just cracked, but has a couple of bubbles where it indents. Going to try using the 250 watt infrared heat lamp under my desk that keeps my legs and toes very warm to heat up the vinyl. Should apply full coverage heat slowly, If not then the hairdryer. Then will from the back side pour in some very liquid RH Adhesives HH-66 Vinyl Cement to fill foam gaps and hold the vinyl skin down. My dash is easy to remove so backside pouring will be easy
Will this work for leather dash, also? My Jag has a couple of bubbles, one on the center area, which may be leather, but could be vinyl, not sure. The other bubbles are on the gauge cluster shroud, which I'm almost certain is leather. Also, is the glue under the bubble still good? My assumption was that the glue had failed and this is why the bubble formed in the first place.
Where can I go in Houston to get this done?
Thanks for the vid
makes more sense to have done the hole from the backside.........
Thank.you for this video. Worked perfectly
Much better than the other UTUBE.On dash repair it had to be a joke or drunk doing it.
My son pressed his football cleat right onto the vynil dashboard of my new car! Looking how to make the bumps he left on it go away. Should I try with a hair dryer? Any advice?
My advice is to teach the boy some respect for things. Football cleat on the dash? Really?
I have a small bubble develop from the intense heat we had these past few days. I will try this method to get rid of it.
Youre using a heat gun isnt the same reason it affect you
Like other folks mentioned here - I don´t understand how this is supposed to stay as it is WITHOUT injecting some kind of glue into the air bubble. In my Nissan Armada the bubble only forms if the truck has been out in the heat for a while. After driving for ~10 minutes with AC on full power it will return to normal.
Very clever , what if the car has some wrinkles on the dash , will they go as well ?? Thank you .
Does this work on leather too?
What the name of the machine that he using ?
Heat Gun, something like a very powerful Hair Dryer.., or you can simply leave the part stand in the sun until hot to touch and do the same thing!
This only works on during applying new leather ? Or old ones works as well ?
Id drill a hole from the back where you don't see it
This is a very good idea..., and fill up the void with glue and press until stuck and dry!
Cool
I will try this and if it doesnt work expect my criticism that you most probably won't read, cheers in advance 😂
My lexus glovebox vinyl (or leather not sure) seems to have a bubble where the glue has released. Is this a possible solution? I was thinking of a syringe with glue and then spread it around. Not sure how to proceed. Dealer is of no help.
I know it's been a year or so since you posted this - have you had any luck with the idea you inquired about? Let me know, its happening to my car as well.
Did you apply new glue to existing bubble?
You can fool us, we all the "Magical Michael Jackson Glove" is needed to preform this kind of Magic :O)
