This was a great book except for the authors insertion of a theory that just does not hold up at all. How did Nicole (and, more importantly, her dog) not hear the alleged life and death scuffle right outside her door that ensued after O.J. fled the scene? How did Goldman get to know Rogers since it has been alleged that it was actually Rogers who gave Goldman a ride to Nicole’s house? This gesture alone indicates a rather close relationship. Also, how did Nicole, O.J. and/or Khardasian ALL get to know Rogers - it definitely had to be separate events that caused the obvious independent relationships to be developed? Many holes in Pardo’s theory. At some level there was mutual trust established among all parties with Rogers. So Nicole goes from dating a Saudi prince to hooking up with a dirty-looking hobo - this while residing in LA? Doesn’t make sense. Clearly Nicole was into black athletes or rich guys. Perhaps, O.J. hired Rogers to be his spy under the guise of having him do handyman work (since he paid the expenses) and the situation unfolded in a similar manner or he hired him to get back that expensive jewelry., not realizing that he hired a psycho! So Pardo’s theory is that either O.J. (or Robert Khardasian) hired Rogers to spy on Nicole Brown-Simpson and during the unplanned confrontation, Rogers was forced, solely by unfortunate ‘circumstance’, to act as O.J.’s bodyguard when Goldman ‘overreacted’ to O.J.’s belligerent behavior, unknowingly initiating a fight that led to his own death. Rogers would definitely be motivated since he was being paid to act on O.J.’s behalf and pulling a knife, while whooping Rogers’ ass, would have definitely escalated the situation. NOTE: I never believed that O.J. would risk having his children find their mother’s body in such a brutal condition, let alone risk having them actually see him (or a hire killer) commit this act, which was a very likely possibility given the circumstances. Although this explains why O.J. was suicidal because he was indeed ‘indirectly’ responsible for her death, although this was never the plan but also explain his cavalier behavior toward her sense it was her poor decisions and lifestyle that prompted him to go down this route. O.J.’s lawyers were definitely motivated to suppress evidence of Rogers’ involvement because this would lead to another group of new charges such as conspiracy, so they were actually doing their job in keeping this from being revealed. Finally, if Rogers is so ‘beat up’ after the fight with Goldman then how was he able to physically return to the house to carry out the now last minute planned murder/robbery? Not even the most hardened killer would have the stupidity to immediately return to the murder scene (or the mental ability to plan such a caper). Why would he risk being caught at the scene for a few thousand dollars when he had already got away?! Oh, and Nicole didn’t notice his appearance after being engage in a life and death struggle?
