We find 2 long beards late one evening. After driving around, looking for more options, we come back to roost these birds. hey, I have a great idea. Let's buy waders, fight getting fish on a stringer, and dunk our reels in the water instead of just casting from the bank!!!!! Makes perfect sense.
Back in the day me and my father a limit of 300 crappie good enough for the day before the masses took over the lake. Now limits when you use to have a family fish fry in just a few hours of fishing.
Definitely felt it when yall smoked that hen in the beginning and she didnt go down, had that happen before.
We lucked up and found her out in the woods, but it wasn’t pretty.
Love seeing those giant slabs. I have to get down there to give this a go. My bucket list for sure

We only fish the river here cause we don’t have any lakes. Sure seems hard for me to get them fish to go in boxes for some reason? They seem to really prefer natural holes. How are y’all building your boxes and do you ever add any bait inside them to make them find the holes first?
Some awesome fish guys!!! Wish I had a crew to do all that with. It’s just me and my wife here in AR. Caught 5 over 30lbs this year but nothing super big for some reason?? Maybe the next run or two we will find him
We appreciate that. We are blessed to have a good group of guys to fish with. We have a fished a few rivers in our area and will likely do more river fishing in the future. Caught some really big fish this year. We never use any bait to get them in the boxes. Everything we catch is spawning.

Are all these fish spawning or do the fish stay up in these areas post spawn too? Just wondering if they like the cover and might hang out there after they spawn rather than going deeper?
They are spawning. After they spawn the males will stay shallow for a little longer but eventually move back to deeper water.
He’ll never know how close he was to dying ha. We had one this year in MS that two more steps would have cost him his life. Great video guys.

We don’t have a specific brand we wear or prefer when we crappie fish. Hodgman makes a decent pair of neoprene waders though.

Those are called “Breathable waders “ . Frogg Togg’s make some good ones
But those look like Drake breathable waders
