Makers Movement
United States
Registrace 21. 05. 2008
We are about making stuff for yourself. Join us as we learn, try, fail, and succeed. Either in the shop, in the yard and even in the kitchen, we do as much as we can do in and out of the home to free ourselves from the ever growing dependency on a system made up of disposable junk and useless trinkets. We have taken a different approach to modern living. If we can make it we do, if we can fix it we do. If we need a tool we make it or buy it so we can make stuff later. We are a retired military family living a completely debt free lifestyle in North Idaho. We are not debt free because we made good choices in our lives, we have made and continue to make a tool box full of mistakes. We are FREE because we make whatever we can in and around the homestead, and occasionally we sell the surplus. It is never too late to Embrace the MAKERS MOVEMENT life style. We will show you how we are doing it, come join us on our makers journey.

nice job
nice choice of music
I wish there was a way to cut out the background "stuff" (music?) !
I'm simply looking for what materials I can use for my cover .any suggestions . Got to be waterproof 4 season
I've only done this a couple of times and it was a mess both times lol
How are you supposed to grab the knife
The sheath that the knife is in is too large, as it was designed for the HOG 4.5. The one that she is making will fit the knife perfectly.
🤩
So cool! You do excellent work. While people might not be as accurate when starting out, this is very inspirational💚
Nice Angel
Woohoo he's still vertical! 🤠
Nice blade bubbles 😂
Very very very bad editing think the jerkiness was cool?
Your opinion is irrelevant. Hahah
You forgot to describe the choice of paint for the poles in the best. Most efficient way to apply it.
So no where do you share how you cut the 3 surfaces of the tang of the trapper build. Or am i missing a video lesson?????
J'ai beaucoup de machette chez moi, et c'est ma préféré
Beautiful machine - did a very nice job.
This is the best video i have watched on this subject. Well done
I had almost forgotten about this video Mr. Dave . Sure do miss this instructional videos ya'll put out Sir.
Great ideas to use. Thx
great video, is it possible to leave it up all year round?
Absolutely but it will severely reduce the lifespan. Its better if you live in it, and keep a fire, then it will stay dry year roud and it will have lesser impact on the canvas. But eventually the sun and rain will erode the integrity of the fabric.
@@MakersMovementDIY thank you!
Yup and wear a poncho under it
Sparkles of magic here. Very nice
Thank you
I hope it serves you well.
Where can you get the full kit?
Great Video and Channel! Any chance on maybe doing a product review of our Firestarters?
This is the video that started my bushcraft/survival hobby. Thank you sir for your service and for inspiring me to hit the woods!
That is an amazing thing to hear, i hope that it has been long and exciting.
Ohh wedding horn and drinking horn
Any chance of putting a downloadable template on line. I would love to try to make one of these!
I dont have the digital skills to pull thatnoff but there is probably something out there on the interwebs.
❤
Hello i am business if you want contact to me
Absolute best depiction of a bank robber knot I've found on CZcams. Most examples use a lot of rope -- probably for demonstration purposes, to make it easier to see -- and when it's time to pull it tight, there's a lot of play and the "horse" has much too much rope. Thanks so much
is that up or down milling?
cripe so many whiners..I watched it and I'm sure I can do it ....anyone with a modicum of brains can figure it out....
I’m a little late to your video series, but I appreciate the detail you went into. Been making fix blades for about five years and I’m ready to jump into the slip joint world. Thanks a lot.
Awesome, I hope it helps.
A little tip from me. I protekt the smoke flap pockets from wearing out by inserting blunt little cow horn tips into them. It also holds them open to insert the poles easier.
21 years in the Army never seen anyone put one of these up alone. WOW amazing. Also i never knew these had a footprint,
Thanks so much! Really enjoyed the process and will give it a try!
Both systems comprehensively beaten by the German Zeltbhan system.
I want to get one .
Semper Fi - Uh-Rah !

Who did I copy?
I don't know how I missed this one when posted Dave, but awesome as usual 😎
So I just made my first hood. I am so happy both videos found me!
In fact I'm sewing my second one by hand as I watch this vid
Bad idea? fresh pine alot of resin?
🔥🔥😻
looks decent. I read that the blades are very accessible for viewing/changing. Is this true? Have you tried sharpening or replacing the blades yet? Thanks
It is true, and i have three sets of blades athat I change and sharpen on a rotation. One set of bldes willnlast most of a season but it depends on rather im chipping hard dry twigs or green wood. But either way the blades are easy to change.
Cool video
Use rod end bearings instead of clips to attach the poles to the sled and belt instead of loose fitting clips/rope...the rigidity really helps with the jerkiness and tracking.
Buenísimo trabajo amigo aprendí mucho un enorme saludo
Thanks for sharing.😊
