What’s crazy is that he lived in the U.S. as a laborer, poor and humble while simultaneously was a famous singer in South Africa but didn’t know it. After his tours he went back to the U.S. and worked and lived his humble lifestyle.

I am so very grateful to have seen "Searching for the Sugar Man" - a very moving documentary, which prompted me to fly to Seattle to see Rodriquez live. Brilliant concert in a small venue and one of my favorite highlights in life. Sixto was lovely, gentle, grateful, humble and a very talented man. I pray that the last few years of his life allowed him to see how much he was appreciated and loved. Fortunately, I live near Detroit and visit his neighborhood frequently....which he is honored by a huge mural....long live the spirt of the Sugar Man!

I live in the US. I'm 52 and I just learned of this man moments ago. I have a living love affair with music. It's the one thing that can connect people on such a deep level from such drastic differences. It's awesome that his people finally got to connect with him and that he got recognition. Folks, war sucks. Make peace at all costs, or else it costs all❤
I cry everytime. Absolutely amazing. The anticipation, the triumph, the mutual organic reciprocity. In awe 😢
