Aillio Bullet - First roast
zhlédnutí 14KPřed 2 lety
It's been quite some time since our last post but life has been a bit hectic. Here's our first roast video. This was actually completed quite a while ago. We've had many roasts since then and our technique has improved. The concepts are still the same as mentioned in this video. Enjoy! #aillio #homeroastedcoffee #coffee

In this video we are opening our new roaster. Can't wait to start using it! The video mentions the places you can order the Aillio Bullet in the United States. Here are the links. Sweet Maria’s www.sweetmarias.com Docent Coffee docentcoffee.com/

Introduction to our coffee and our farm
Good video. I recently bought a nucleus link as a first roaster and am already looking at what’s next. How is that little exhaust fan you bought? Does it work pretty good at taking the smoke out? Given the orientation of your Bullet is it hard for you to empty the chaff?
Very informative, thank you for sharing!
This video is perfect for getting up and running. Thank you!
When would you decide to increase the speed of the fan, lower the power or increase the drumspeed when you want to slow down the temperature for a bit? It seems you have multiple ways to increase or decrease the temp. But what are the pros and cons of each option? Nice video by the way!!
Thank you very much for this video. ❤
hello what software using
The software that aillio uses is called RoasTime, and it's very user-friendly
Thanks for the video. I just started using a bullet and stumbled through the seasoning and first 2 roasts. This video brings it all together and I will be more confident about my next roast!😊
We're so glad it was helpful for you!
Did you ever tried it with 1kg of Green Coffee? I wonder how many smoke comes out, because unfortunately I could not set such a quiet good room as you did :-)
Yes I have and there was no problem with the 1kg roast. You'll just need to be more careful with the starting temperature and making adjustments throughout so that it doesn't roast too quickly or burn the beans.
Can this be hooked up to an iPad?
I believe it can but I'm not 100% sure
Great video, I currently use the sr800 because I’m newer to roasting, definitely will be buying this in the near future, Greta descriptive video and looks like a great piece of equipment!
Same! Just bought my bullet today and I’m pumped!
I'm so thankful it was helpful to you!
Please let me know how you like it
Congratulations on your first roast. Hope this will be my next roaster in a few months.
I highly recommend it!
Super helpful video to get me started! Thanks for sharing.
No problem!
Great 👍:)
Awesome of you to comment! I love my Bullet!
It’s beautiful however so expensive!!
It pays itself off overtime. Even more quickly if you start selling beans.
@@loverspointcaprinesandcaff5256 Do you sell? How long before you broke even?
Kind regards from Berlin, Germany ;-)
Is there an advantage to this particular software compared to Artisan?
Very impressive by the way. Thanks for making this video.
Thank you! I wish I had a good answer for you but I've never used Artisan. It is nice to have your roast time connected to your inventory in roast world so all of your batches get subtracted from your inventory automatically. It does have flaws they're trying to correct in the inventory tracking.
Great video, information I needed. I have a question about the exhaust does it need to vented? I don't see any vent kits or people taking about the exhaust. I am currently using a SR800 it makes some exhaust and smells but Aillio is considerably larger.
Hi Franz! You absolutely do need an exhaust for this. We currently use a AC Infinity Cloudline S6 that we bought on Amazon. Super easy set-up
@@loverspointcaprinesandcaff5256 Thank you. Looking forward to when I upgrade to the Bullit
amazing video and roaster. I would love to own one but it is very expensive for my coffee consumption of about 2.5lbs/month in house.
I can understand that. We had the same issue so we started offering beans for sale. Now we're probably outgrowing our Aillio and need to upgrade.
@@loverspointcaprinesandcaff5256 Wait, are you saying y’all already made your ROI on the Bullet and now need a bigger roaster?!?
Well done, can’t wait for mine to arrive and give this a try, so what improvements in your technique did you find then?
So far I've made adjustments to the steady decrease in the RoR and adjustments in the time since first crack. I've found that reducing the RoR steadily after first crack and letting it get to the roast temperature you're looking for is easier to control that way. Gives you a great bean.
Great video. Tip - if you want a greater RoR, reduce the fan speed. Also, if you reduce the speed of the drum, you will see a significant increase in the RoR as the beans make more surface contact with the hot drum.
Thank you Giovanny! I've never tried the reduction in drum speed to increase RoR. I'll try that on a future roast.
Hi, what is RoR? Thanks in advance
@@CoreanShorts Hi, RoR refers to the rate of rise and it's the rate at which the temperature is rising usually in 30 second increments.
@@CoreanShorts when you slow down the drum speed, the beans have longer surface contact with the drum increasing the heat transfer more rapidly.
how mutch do you that?
We only do it when necessary. In this case we were drawing blood to get lab work done.
@@loverspointcaprinesandcaff5256 can i see how you that do?
@@jvenema86 well we collect the blood just like we did in the video and then we send the sample to a laboratory. That's where they find the results.
so really beautiful video i love it
Would love to see you do a video o the Bullet in action. I’m thinking about purchasing one
We have video up on our page with the Bullet in action. Hope you enjoy it!
It’s my understanding that the computer is not required for the roaster to operate. It’s required for firmware updates and logging, but the roaster is completely able to roast without a computer. Can you confirm this yet?
That is absolutely correct. We've had to do a manual roast without roast time because their system was down. It worked perfectly fine.
I like coffee :)
So do we!
Tell me how I can support, and then take my money💰 😊 looking forward to more!
Well if you ever want some fresh roasted coffee, ground to the specifications of your coffee system (French press, espresso, aeropress, etc), let me know 😉
Look forward to more videos
We hope to have a new one up in a few days
