David Roche - Leadville 100 win and new course record
In this episode I team up with Kate from RunUltra to speak with David.
We talk about his historic race at the Leadville 100 where he not only won his debut 100 miler, but actually broke Matt Carpenters 19 year old course record in the process! Dropping it from 15:42 to 15:26!
We talk about his training and preparation leading into this race. We discuss his specific approach involving numerous interventions designed to give David the edge on the long standing record. We discuss carbon shoes, carb intake, bicarb and tons more!
David is a very open guy and we talk about the issues he's had this year after his road accident and suffering from abuse online.

Our hero UTMB. Hahahaha. Vail ghosted Gary, made it almost impossible for WAM to run it, but look who is here, IronMan. Vail might be the bad guys here, but UTMB could have also contacted Gary about partnering but didn’t. Probably due to Gary’s assertion on Squamish, that the local trail community needs to be prominently featured and that doesn’t fit with IronMan corporate agenda. It’s comical about him talking about Squamish being a training for Whistler, hahaha. Too fucking late UTMB, some may still be swayed by stones and your name, but there is no trust from the local trail community. Good luck with volunteers. You’re not welcome, so fuck off.

They should just cancel the Whistler event and hope for the best. It'll take a few years for people to move on though.
