Hey I have a 2012 Chevy equinox and have just had the same problem limp mode because my alternator was going bad plus my O2 sensor r bad my PVC valve was dirty and clogged in the manifold and this is happening to all the vehicles that have the 2.4 liter engine and guess what they just kept making them I wonder why? Because they design car to fail and have problems about 100k and it's a fucking fact and in 1930 they had a man built a carburetor that got 200 mpg and killed and keeps happening! I say this because it effects us all!!
Could this problem cause your traverse to overheat? This happened to me yesterday engine got hot this stabilitrak came on and basically pulled over and got towed please if anyone knows please help
I'm having similar issues with 2012 Traverse. Engine locked up at 120k with only a few codes.Bought another engine with 61k miles. bought reman. ECM and re-programed by mechanic. All kinds of codes and reduced power. Cleaned as you did but similar codes. Ordered different reman. ECM and currently awaiting arrival. Found your video after and have never seen a more profesional presentation! You are gifted and should continue your style of explaining remedies as you did this one. I'm subscribed for all and will watch all. Thanks
Thanks for saving me the research! Cleaned it up(known to get dirty, bad design) and then fixed the wiring getting cut where it hooks into the trans there right under the air box. Idiotic designs all around from GM.
IMO, very very good instructions. I had this happen at 160k miles. I cleaned everything, but in the end, i had to replace the throttle body. Part alone was cheaper than the labor to replace it at the dealer. But it just happened again today with 260k miles. This time with a P0221 code. I'm going to do everything you mentioned and hopefully i won't need to replace another throttle body. Theere is another fix that involves drilling out the PCV valve, which is supposed to reduce the oil accumulating in the hose to the mass flow air sensor. I did this and noticed a big difference every time i changed the air filter. Search on youtube for it.
I never would have associated the Service Traction Control error to the Throttle Body or Throttle Position Sensor. Stupid programming in my opinion. I did this Throttle Body cleaning yesterday and so-far our Traverse is running fine again. I didn't actually have any throttle body or carburetor cleaner handy so I used starting fluid. I cleared the error codes and we're good to go. Thank you for this video!
most i have found did have oil in the throttle and it did fix the problem. BUT i have one here now and EVERYTHING been replaced and still has problem. with same code for throttle/Pedal P2138 The fuse box was loose at the 2 bolts. Tighten that by cutting a washer in half. Place half the washer under the bolt head then tighten back down. The bolts like to free spin
Well said bro not sure how long you made this video honestly the dealer is I ripoff they have little knowledge about there own brand I just see 5 years ago and it's still facts
Very nice video, you did nice talking on the fly, and you took clear videos of everything that you were explaining. All of this means one thing, and that is that you should keep making more Dyi videos.
Your theory doesn't hold water . The TPS sensors are not open to the actual throttle body bore . This 3.6 engine has been developing oil in the intake tube since 2007 . Has no effect on engine operation .
I had the same problem on my Cadillac XTs traction control stabilizer reduce power and limp mode. after research it was determined that it was the mass airflow sensor after replacing mass airflow sensor it resolved all my problems. The Cadillac XTS has the same engine and same type transmission I think your transmission is a 6T75 but same concept.
2010 Chevy Traverse Service Stabiltrak Service traction control Reduces speed to 10mph Sits in idle and vibrates abs light pops on too Go away for a few days then does it again Im in Ks cold as hell but relatively dry Also thoughts on cleaning all wheel position sensors?? Thoughts?
The same happened to my 2012 traverse. I replaced my high Pressure Fuel Pump and cleaned out my fuel injectors, replaced the O-rings, and all was good. Also had to replace my bank 2 sensor 2 O2 sensor.
That is probably the best self fix video I have seen ... Maybe ever. No joke. This very issue has been a pain in my ASS for some time now. All other fix vids have been ... Frustrating. Thank you. Subscribed. 🙏🏼👍🏼
Thx brother great video...I just bought a used 2017 traverse 130,000 miles🤦♂️car still in good shape can't go wrong with 8 seater budget was right..bought it on black Friday 3 days later engine light pop's up. Air flow sensor..😔😪hopefully this is the only issues I have. Yhx for the video. 🤙🤙
Appreciate the video but i'm still on the hunt, changed the throttle body, cleaned the sensor. changed the pcv (both) changed the ignition sensor, same issue.
Repairs- are not a magic. I have been believing in in this throttle body cleaning fairy tale until replaced cats and o sensors , all four of them! And than came brake pedal sensor which also caused stabilitrack fail. (Two problems in one). And finally lubricated worn out brake pedal lever to let new sensor fully retract when break pedal released. This video is just a cartoon show….
This is by far the best video! Informative straight to the point no BS! You da fuking man!
Did it work

Excellent job
How about if the code comes back
Get to the fucking point already!
Is that oil on the white towel?

I almost started doing push-ups.
Awesome video!
The Torx is size T25.
Great info, but if you don’t know where your battery is, you probably shouldn’t be trying this.
So where is this oil coming from to begin with? What the f-k

Is your PVC stuck open?
Love ur delivery! Awsome stuff... Just a heads up, instead of rag in oil cap , just put oil cap back on

Great job. Informative and entertaining.
Bro, it's just like having a respiratory problem!!!
Chevy makes junk vehicles
Your theory doesn't hold water . The TPS sensors are not open to the actual throttle body bore . This 3.6 engine has been developing oil in the intake tube since 2007 . Has no effect on engine operation .
Just install a oil catch canister

"I'm not doing that". Love it haha

Is all of that oil? All of it? Lots of it? Is it all oil?
Great video! Thanks
And to this day we have not heard anything from this guy. He said we wouldn’t hear from him if it worked😂😂😂
I got a 2018 chevy cruze, and stabilititrak come up, I will clean the snorkel and..
Awesome assist, now to wait and see how it runs. Hopefully this is the problem 😊
Super excellent video...thank you.
GREAT VIDEO, EXCELLENT EXPLANATION SIR. THANK YOU

Thank for the video
Is Traverse still surviving after 4 years? How many miles now?
You are the man! Dont go to the dealer! Got it
You may have just saved me a LOT of money, thank you so much!!!
Great video, I am definitely going to do this. I appreciate you making the video. Curious if the issue came back since you cleaned it?
Bypassing the oil going into the "clean air" with a stand alone crankcase filter will keep oil out of the throttle body.
Appreciate the video but i'm still on the hunt, changed the throttle body, cleaned the sensor. changed the pcv (both) changed the ignition sensor, same issue.
I’m having this, too. Did you find a fix? I’m thinking of replacing the PVC valve.
