    I cannot for the life of me understand why anyone would plant at 10 mph,you break stuff at 5 mph,but hey who am I to tell someone how fast to plant. Have a great day

    • @farmingwiththetaylors
      @farmingwiththetaylors Před 2 měsíci

      Obviously if the conditions aren’t fit, we only plant at what would be appropriate. But between working our ground extremely smooth, having little to no rocks and todays equipment being built extremely beefy we’ve had zero problems planting at that speed. We’re not going to do things intentionally that we know would break our equipment. Breakdowns mean downtime, we can’t afford to have downtime. These aren’t the JD 7000’s from the 80’s. These are whole new machines.

    Have you tried playing with you vac pressure.. higher speeds typically take higher vac... I use to run one where I use to work and it wasn't uncommon to be at 25-27 on the vacs and could pretty consistently run 10 mph at 99.8 singulation. But yes the flats are harder to get good singulation out of.

    • @farmingwiththetaylors
      @farmingwiththetaylors Před 2 měsíci

      Using a JD 7000 receiver for shutoffs and speed and Gen 5 monitor to control the planter. Auto steer is all factory Case IH with Pro 700 and 372 receiver. The John Deere components are completely separate from the Case IH tractor. Works very well and very easy to set up.

      @farmingwiththetaylors Před 2 měsíci

      Kinzes are very good planters, hence why we still run one. Although when you get down to it, Kinze and John Deere planters are very very similar. They have been for decades and there always seem to be lawsuits between the two companies on planter designs.

      Both our high speed Kinze we had last year and the John Deere this year did exceptionally well. We’ll have videos on spraying and sidedressing our corn that way you can see just how good our stands are. We have no complaints on singulation whatsoever. We’re not the only ones out there planting at higher speeds. There are plenty of other videos of people planting even faster than us with just as good of stands.

    • @farmingwiththetaylors
      @farmingwiththetaylors Před 3 měsíci

      We will be considering a DB for our next bean planter. Our current Kinze 15 inch bean planter has rows that get run over by tires which can be a challenge sometimes depending on the soil conditions. We are also thinking on 20 inch beans, so a Kinze is definitely still an option. We’ve had 5 different Kinzes on the farm over the years and they’ve been very good to us.
