That being said, the Sylvania kit (with wet/dry sand paper and buffing compound) is the only one that has pre steps. 3M says this product would work on polyethylene. 3M™ High Performance Industrial Plastic Adhesive 4693H High performance adhesive forms strong bonds on most plastics, polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE) and polyolefin blends (TPO)
Good to know thanks. Looked it up some. Sound like it's more like a low surface energy plastic contact adhesive more than like an epoxy. I'm sure it has some great use cases as does the AA 3035 by Loctite.
My crimp broke... any idea where to get that part
So have you had an issue with this PW shutting off abruptly while under pressure? Ive checked the Unloader but it's in good condition, I just cant figure it out? it continues to run when I depress the trigger but stalls when I release it..
No, my unit is still running good. I do use 90 octane ethanol-free gas and always run the carb dry (turning the gas lever to off and running the washer until it dies). This sounds like a classic small engine carb issue to me.
@@motleypixel I have the same issue. It turns on and runs when the wand trigger is pulled . But as soon as I let go of the trigger the machine shuts off immediately. What is a small engine carb issue ?
@@robertozaeta1864 small engine carburetors are prone to gum up and clog, esp. with low grade, low detergent and esp. ethanol blended fuels. The internals (float needles and tiny bores/passages) get clogged or sticky/gummed up. The float works under load demand but when you let off the trigger it needs to float back down and not choke/flood and kill the engine. Have you used only ethanol free gas and have you run the carb dry until the machine turns off every use? I'm seeing a lot of this and I think I should put this in the very beginning of this video to emphasize the importance of these 2 things.
Your radio channel is.... Nice ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I have this pressure washer and used it quite a lot last year until the first part of Fall...Now that I am ready to use it again I am having trouble starting it.Any advice how to start my Westinghouse power washer ? I've tried some troubleshooting I found online but it still doesn't work.It started but it just a little bit and stop it won't even let me on the choke hold and it stops.
Have you been using ethanol-free gas? If not, then remove and rebuild carb and that will fix your issue.
@@motleypixelyes I am using ethanol free gas...it starts but when you move the choke to run position it stops
@@ms.whinestambayan okay well that's good because if any ethanol mix fuel used generally causes issues like this, esp. if a run of ethanol mix w/o running out the fuel in the carb and then stored over a season, that's a sure ticket to an issue like this. FWIW, I use only ethanol-free gas and I also run the carb dry by shutting off the gas lever and running the washer until it dies. What you are describing is very hall-mark to a "gunked" up carb as it needs more choke to pull fuel through the carb. If you can't figure it out, then I'd take it to a small engine repair shop to fix it.
So helpful! Thank you!
Great video! I just got this the other day. Im not able to put on a quick disconnect for the high pressure hose because the handle is in the way. Would you recommend a 90 or 45 degree connection? Would that affect the pressure?
either would work, but I would still recommended a support bracket like what I fabricated. That inlet is cast AL, not very strong.
@@motleypixel you’re awesome! Thank you! I was scared with the high pressure and having the water diverted 90 degrees it would harm the motor.
Hi Roy. I hope this is not bugging you to request this. I recently bought a 2021 forester and I have the catch can to install. I have installed them on other vehicles but never on a subaru with the boxer engine. Would you mind explaining again (or perhaps showing some close up photos) of where the second line connects to (I assume the "out" port on the catch can connects direcly to the PCV valve on the top of the intake, yes?, but where is the other hose located that you connect to the "in" port on the can??). I cannot tell specifically from the video pictures. Thank you so much!!! Chris
Sure I can do that but I'm traveling give me a day or two please

you need to get yourself a stealth 555 kayak.
I just learned that it is not recommended to use teflon tape or any inhibitor of a GHT washer. The reason GHT fitting leak is due to the washer not seating correctly due to teflon tape or other inhibitors preventing the seal. I took all the teflon tape off my ght fittings, out new rubber gaskets in the female ends and no more leaks
I prefer the GME-236, for me is the best ESR meter on the market.
I just both the same pressure washer from HD. I am wondering if I have a lemon or not but I am having issues starting the unit. After I run water through the high pressure hose I have al lot or resistance trying to pull the cord to start. I have to hold the trigger to let water flow freely through to release the resistance to start the unit. Is anyone having the same problem?
This is normal. What's not normal is the unit not starting. Ensure the start/stop switch is in Start/Run, ensure the spark plug wire/boot is firmly pushed in/seated onto the spark plug, ensure you have a good amount of good fuel (recommend ethanol free), ensure the gas knob is turned to the on position, ensure the choke is in the choke position. You have to pull the cord firmly and quickly and if it starts to run you have to quickly turn the choke off. If you are too slow doing this and the unit dies then you have to relive the pressure in the hose, keep the choke off this time, and pull the cord again. You can't pull the cord if the action of manually starting or engine starting and then dying occurs because it turns the positive displacement pump which builds up pressure in the hose. Good luck.
Watching this I don`t know whether I want to fix things or play the thing now hahaha. So much great information here, finding a decent sega MD was hard enough, breaking one with lack of experience in this field :( I think The best bet is to find some one local or in UK or US that can do it for me.
First time using a soldering iron = not good to do this job. Get a good soldering station, quality solder and solder tools and practice on old broken tube TVs (of course follow ALL CRT voltage cautions/dangers) first. Good luck, and thanks for the comment.

The jb weld used with your thermal prep method works! I have been trying to mend a crack in my hot tub for months and tried a bunch of adhesives and fillers. My tester piece from bits I cut from excess underneath are as strong as a single piece. It’s a sparest 300 AR btw. It cracked bc the tub is a bit thin on one side. Took weeks to find it bc it was so small at first.
I just got one and I agree its a really useful tester.
The easiest way to clear a through hole of solder is to have a good solder sucker. The ones with the plastic tips are horrible. I recommend the silver Japanese one with the silicone tip. It clears through holes no problem
Thanks, just ordered one.

great find!
Hello sir! I've been researching this topic a little and trying to decide what I'm gonna use to fix me and the wife's kayak. I had them strapped on my bed, and the front strap came loose, and they drug the road a bit before I could get stopped. Both of them got the same hole in the tail portion wich is a good flat area. I already ordered a piece of 12"x12"x1" thick piece of High Density polyethylene and my plan is to make a patch plug to fill the hole, and also build the area that got eaten away. I see you recommend the Loctite AA 3035. My plan is to make the patch plug and then glue it, then let it cure for a for days or a week, then grind and sand to the original shape. Do you think that Loctite will do the trick?
for something like that I would thermal weld several layers of HDPE and omit using the 3035 adhesive. The adhesive is really for unique situations, say for instance you have a situation where a brass female threaded insert fails or starts spinning freely. You'd want to screw in a bolt, heat the bolt to the point the brass insert heats up and then pull out the insert. Then put the insert back in with 3035 to hold fast. There are other situations that are conducive to using 3035 vs. thermal welding, but for the most part large hull crack/hole repairs should be thermally welded with augmented HDPE, preferably same color. Good luck.
I bought a brand new electric one, never had pressure. I worked on it, read the book, drove myself nuts. I'm a retired mechanic and I couldn't fix the thing. I ain't the type to take things back to the store.
Sorry to hear that. A few thought: 1. This is a 4 cycle gasoline engine driven positive displacement pump built in the form of a residential 3200psi pressure washer. 2. Your pressure washer is electric and as such are much different in design. 3. Most electric pressure washers are often at lower psi as well. 4. Regardless of your normal behaviors I would certainly return it to the store. Good luck.
you're camera angle sucks.

What is under that black nipple next to the pressure hose connect?
Next to the gold anodized HP connect? The black plastic dome/cover at 2:18 ? That's the pressure adjust which I believe is spring loaded. I don't mess with those adjustments unless I had a pressure gauge and knew better on how to adjust.

Once you’re done with the soap and done flushing it out with water do you leave both valves closed on your 3way valve while running the pressure washer ?
